Part 3
Rohan’s mind screamed at him to run, but his body was paralyzed with terror. The door felt a thousand miles away. Vikram stood between him and freedom, still smiling that calm, polite smile that had once made Rohan feel safe.
“Please…” Rohan’s voice broke. “Let me go. I won’t tell anyone. I swear.”
Vikram sighed, as if disappointed. “Rohan, you’re not the first. And you won’t be the last. But you are the most promising I’ve found in two years. Don’t make this difficult.”
He reached into his jacket and pulled out a small syringe filled with clear liquid.
“I can make this easy for you. One small prick and you’ll feel warm and sleepy. You won’t remember much when you wake up. The client prefers them… soft and pliant.”
Rohan’s heart hammered so hard he thought it would explode. He glanced at his phone on the bedside table — just out of reach.
In one desperate burst of courage, he lunged for it.
Vikram was faster.
A strong hand grabbed Rohan’s wrist, twisting it painfully. The phone clattered to the floor. Vikram pinned him against the bed with surprising strength.
“Shhh,” Vikram whispered against his ear, just like in Rohan’s dreams — only now it was a nightmare. “It’s too late to fight. You already said yes when you walked through that door.”
A knock sounded on the hotel room door.
Three slow, deliberate knocks.
Vikram’s smile widened. “He’s early.”
