Part 4

Six months later.

The company is back in my father’s name. I took over as acting CEO while he recovered. The house was cleaned — every trace of Vivian and Marcus removed. Their names were scrubbed from every account, every document.

Marcus took a plea deal and is serving 7 years. Vivian fought it. She got 12.

My father walks with a cane now, but he walks. He smiles again. Sometimes we sit in the garden my mother designed and talk about her. He finally started therapy.

As for me?

I’m no longer the girl who ran away.

I’m the woman who came back and took everything back.

Last week, on the anniversary of my mother’s death, Dad and I visited her grave. He placed flowers down and said quietly:

“Your daughter saved me, Elena. She became unstoppable.”

I think she already knew.

Vivian and Marcus thought they had broken the Hale family.

They only woke up the part of me that would burn the world down to protect it.

Karma didn’t just win.

She graduated from law school and came home with receipts.
