💔 PART 2 — “WHILE THE WEDDING CONTINUED DOWNSTAIRS… I THOUGHT MY BABY AND I WERE GOING TO DIE.”

At first, I kept screaming.

I pounded on the bathroom door so hard my hands turned red.

“PLEASE!” I cried. “SOMEBODY HELP ME!”

But downstairs, the music only got louder.

The ceremony had started.

I could hear applause.

Laughter.

Glasses clinking.

Meanwhile, I was lying on a cold marble floor in a soaked bridesmaid dress, shaking so violently I could barely breathe.

Another contraction tore through my body so hard I screamed into my own arm to stop myself from panicking.

My baby was coming.

And I was completely alone.

I tried the door again.

Locked.

I grabbed the handle with both hands, sobbing, begging, praying someone would hear me over the wedding music.

Nobody came.

Then suddenly—

a sharp pain exploded through my stomach unlike anything before.

I collapsed beside the sink, gasping for air.

That was the moment terror truly hit me.

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

I reached for my phone instinctively before remembering Doña Elena still had it.

The realization nearly broke me.

She hadn’t just abandoned me.

She had trapped me there intentionally.

Tears blurred my vision.

“Please,” I whispered to my daughter. “Please don’t leave me.”

Downstairs, people were cheering.

Valeria had apparently just walked down the aisle.

And for one horrifying moment, I honestly thought my baby girl might be born on that bathroom floor while an entire wedding celebrated only feet away.

Then I heard footsteps outside the door.

Fast.

Urgent.

I forced myself up and started pounding again.

“HELP ME!”

Silence.

Then a familiar voice suddenly shouted from the other side:

“Marisol?!”

Diego.

Relief crashed through me so hard I nearly collapsed again.

“I’M IN HERE!” I screamed. “THE DOOR IS LOCKED!”

For half a second, there was silence outside.

Then Diego’s voice changed completely.

Cold.

Dangerous.

“Who locked this door?”

No answer.

Then I heard another voice.

His mother.

Calm.
Smooth.
Lying effortlessly.

“She’s emotional,” Doña Elena said. “I told her to rest before the ceremony—”

“OPEN THE DOOR.”

The words came out so violently that even through the pain, I froze.

I had never heard my husband sound like that before.

Not once in our entire marriage.

And apparently…

neither had his mother.
