P4: My Revenge
P4: My Revenge
The next few weeks were pure chaos.
I filed for divorce immediately and filed charges against all three of them — fraud, forgery, conspiracy to commit murder, and attempted murder. The evidence Maria helped gather was overwhelming.
Andrew lost his job when the scandal exploded in the news. Mrs. Eleanor’s perfect social reputation was destroyed overnight. Sophia’s family cut ties with her when they learned the truth.
I didn’t stop there.
Using the $100,000 they gave me (plus what I took from our joint accounts before freezing them), I hired the best lawyers and a private investigator. We discovered Andrew had been siphoning money from our company for years to support Sophia.
In the end, the judge ruled in my favor. I kept the house, the majority of our assets, and received a huge settlement. Andrew and his mother were ordered to pay millions in damages.
Six months later, I stood in the same living room — now redecorated to remove every trace of them.
Maria was still with me, now officially my assistant and friend. She smiled as she handed me a glass of wine.
“You did it, Ma’am.”
I looked out at the garden where I once stood shaking in fear.
“No, Maria,” I said softly. “We did it.”
Andrew tried to contact me many times. He begged for forgiveness. His mother even tried to guilt-trip me, saying I was destroying the family.
I never replied to any of them.
Instead, I took the trip to Europe I was originally “gifted” — this time on my own terms. I traveled, healed, and finally learned how to breathe again.
Sometimes people ask me if I regret my marriage.
I smile and say:
“I don’t regret it. Because it taught me the most valuable lesson of my life — never trust a smile that never reaches the eyes.”
And from that day forward, I never let anyone try to erase me again.
