By Tuesday, February 17, after multiple interviews and inconsistencies in Adrienne Reid’s account, she was charged with false reporting to law enforcement authorities, a Class C felony. Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox stated in court that Reid is “the only known suspect” in her daughter’s disappearance, alleging she has hidden or destroyed evidence and poses a flight risk.
Reid appeared via Zoom before District Judge Josh Wilson on Wednesday, February 18. The judge set bond at $1 million cash only. If posted, strict conditions apply: GPS monitoring, daily check-ins at the Enterprise Police Department, participation in a court referral program with active drug screening, and no leaving Coffee County without court permission. Until bond is posted, she remains in custody at the Coffee County Jail.

With assistance from East Alabama Canine Search and Recovery, teams scoured wooded areas surrounding the apartment complex, including drainage and sewer pipes. On Wednesday, a certified cadaver dog was deployed around the complex and nearby woods—a standard step to rule out foul play in the immediate vicinity. Police Chief Michael Moore noted no evidence tied to Genesis was found, adding, “Thank God we didn’t find anything,” according to reports.
Investigators emphasized that the child’s whereabouts remain unknown. They are actively seeking anyone who has seen Genesis in the past 30 days or had contact with Adrienne Reid between December 24, 2025, and February 16, 2026.
