As Hughes approached the cars the group was getting into, he allegedly stumbled into the road just as one of the vehicles pulled away. What happened next turned a prank into a fatal incident. Emergency responders rushed him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, but he later died from his injuries. Police have since arrested five 18-year-olds, including the driver who now faces first-degree vehicular homicide charges. Authorities say several of the teens stayed at the scene and attempted to help before paramedics arrived.
