In recent days, the story of a 19-year-old British tourist who tragically died in an accident in Vietnam but donated her organs to save lives has attracted significant attention. Her identity is gradually being revealed.
According to the Daily Mail, the victim was O.S.W, 19 years old, daughter of Andy Wates, a director at a family-owned construction group worth £2.4 billion in the UK.
O.S.W was involved in the accident during a cross-Vietnam trip while on her “gap year” before university. At the time of the incident, she was traveling on the Ha Giang route, a famous 400km route that attracts many international tourists, especially those who love exploration.
O.S.W was the daughter of the director of a large construction corporation.
According to initial information, O.S.W was riding on the back of a motorbike when the driver lost control, causing her to be thrown off and collide with a truck. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by authorities.
She was taken to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced brain dead. Upon receiving the news, her parents – Andy Wates and Henrietta – flew from London to Hanoi to say goodbye to their daughter before she passed away on the 2nd.
