Nearly two months after the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie from her Arizona home, her daughter Savannah Guthrie is pushing back against growing online speculation targeting her own family.

Speaking emotionally on the March 26 episode of Today, Savannah strongly denied claims that her sister Annie Guthrie, brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni, or brother Camron Guthrie had anything to do with their mother’s disappearance.

“It’s unbearable and it piles pain upon pain,” she said, addressing the rumors. “There are no words. I don’t understand, I’ll never understand.” Defending her family, she added, “No one took better care of my mom than my sister and brother-in-law. No one protected my mom more than my brother.”

Savannah als reflected on her mother’s importance to the family, calling Nancy their “shining light” and “matriarch,” adding, “She is all we have.”

FBI Search, Video Evidence Add Context

Speculation intensified after the FBI searched Annie Guthrie’s home on February 7, but authorities later clarified that the move was routine and part of standard procedure in missing persons cases.

According to Savannah, a key development that helped counter public suspicion was doorbell camera footage from outside Nancy’s home. Investigators said the video showed a man with a black backpack near the house around the time she vanished.

“I’m glad and grateful… to stop the irresponsible and cruel speculation,” Savannah said, though she admitted watching the footage was deeply distressing. “It’s just absolutely terrifying… I can’t imagine that that is who she saw.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and no suspects have been publicly identified so far. The Guthrie family continues to wait for answers.
