Iran has officially confirmed the passing of Supreme Leader Khamenei. Tragically, his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren were also lost in the recent U.S. military action — the last known family photo has left millions heartbroken.

Iranian state media confirmed today that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in an airstrike by the United States and Israel.

“We inform the Iranian people that Supreme Leader Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has been killed in a coordinated attack by American and Israeli criminals,” Iran’s state news agency announced today.

The news agency described Supreme Leader Khamenei as “a great warrior who dedicated his entire life to the development and standing of Iran and Islam.” “May he be reunited with the Imams and the Leader of the Martyrs,” the report continued.

The Iranian government has declared 40 days of national mourning, which will include seven days of public holidays nationwide.
