Controversial “looksmaxxing” influencer Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Peters, shared an update after a “brutal” hospital stint on Wednesday, April 15.

“Just got home, that was brutal,” Peters captioned a selfie, which featured his bloody face. “All of the substances are just a cope trying to feel neurotypical while being in public, but obviously that isn’t a real solution. The worst part of tonight was my face descending from the life support mask.”

Prior to his hospitalization, Peters made headlines on April 12, when he walked out of an interview with 60 Minutes Australia after being asked about his association with Andrew Tate.

While discussing the “looksmaxxing” community, a controversial sect of the internet populated by young men who strive to maximize their attractiveness in often extreme ways, interviewer Adam Hegarty asked Peters why he spent time with “controversial figures” like Tate.

In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, a spokesperson for Peters said, “Clavicular has made it clear he’s an expert on looksmaxxing, not politics. When the journalist pressed him on a topic that isn’t of his expertise, Clavicular shut him down. Clavicular is young, but he understands the media, and he can spot a dishonest reporter when he sees one.”
