THIS is the terrifying moment a gang of masked robbers steal £1million worth of jewellery in just over a minute.

About 20 masked thugs stormed the luxury store in Northern California and ransacked hordes of gold and diamonds in a brazen smash-and-grab.

In the chaotic CCTV footage, the gang files through the doors and takes positions around the room, methodically smashing glass cabinets.

The staff run for safety to the back of the store and call authorities.

A stolen Honda was used to smash down the front door as two gunmen held a security guard hostage, as reported by East Bay Times.

The two dozen hooligans use a variety of weapons, including hammers and crowbars, to break the display cases.

Some carry bags to stuff the jewellery inside, while others stack up trays of jewels in their arms.

They all wear gloves to prevent leaving fingerprints and balaclavas and hoods.

It took just 70 seconds for the gang to pilfer about 80 per cent of the store’s inventory.

The footage of the “mob-style takeover” on June 18, 2025 at Kumar Jewellers in Fremont was obtained by the East Bay Times.

The members of the masked crew bolted out of the store and jumped into multiple stolen getaway cars.

All the cars sped off in different directions, forcing law enforcement to make a split second decision of which car to follow.

The vehicles were stolen so automated license plate readers failed to help investigators tie suspects to the heist.

According to federal prosecutors, officers pursued a black Acura which led a police chase through several residential areas in Fremont.

“During the pursuit, the Black Acura passed other vehicles on the wrong side of the road, ran stop signs at multiple intersections, and reached speeds of approximately 80 miles per hour while veering across lanes,” a court filing read.

Authorities later arrested four suspects allegedly linked to the crime: Afatupetaiki Faasisila, Jose Herrada-Aragon, Andres Palestino and Tom Parker Donegan, all around 19 or 20 years old at the time.

All four face a federal indictment. Faasisila and Palestino have been released by a judge while the case is pending, records show.

Prosecutors have identified similar heists which may be linked, including at Heller Jewellers in San Ramon.
