Disturbing police update after body parts wash up on Bali beach where son of Ukrainian ‘kingpin’ begged for help

Police are still searching for six suspects

Police have provided a disturbing update after body parts was discovered on a Bali beach last month.

Officers in Indonesia had been searching for Igor Komarov, the son of a Ukrainian businessman, after he was allegedly kidnapped while holidaying in the country with his influencer girlfriend Yesa Mishalova.

The 28-year-old was supposedly abducted on 15 February while riding a scooter and concerns were sparked when a ransom video began circulating online, with Komarov suggesting that he’d already been beaten within an inch of his life and had some of his limbs removed by his kidnappers.

The haunting video sees him plead with his parents to return the ten million they were accused of stealing in the hope of him being allowed to go free, but dismembered body parts were discovered last week on a Bali beach.

And the latest police update seems to tragically suggest that those belong to Komarov, with DNA tests matching those of his mother.

“DNA tests have been conducted by the police forensic laboratory in Jakarta into six samples we got from the body parts,” Bali Police Senior Commissioner Ariasandy said.

The tests focused on samples of the washed up body parts, which included a molar tooth, a collarbone, a fragment of the thigh bone (femur), a rib bone, a toe bone, and a fragment of the shin bone.

Ariasandy added: “The DNA tests match with the DNA sample from [Mr Komarov’s] mother. Based on (this), we found that the body parts (were) identical to the victim.”

Officers confirmed the discovery of a head, right leg, upper chest sections, thighs and internal organs, which have now been identified as belonging to Igor Komarov, with the reports also suggesting that he had died around three days prior.

In the horrifying ransom video, the emotional victim begged for help from his ‘mummy’ and ‘daddy’ – the Ukrainian ‘kingpin’ Sergey Komarov.

He said: “They already chopped off some of my limbs, I have broken legs and punched ribcage. I’m already on meds, I already have no limbs.

“Mummy, Daddy, I beg you, help me please, you stole those ten million, which they ask for, return these ten million please.

“An infection will start soon. I’m just dying… I ask you very much, this is a very serious organisation, please help me, no one can find me, neither mafiosos, no one.

“Bring me home, what[ever] is left of me at the moment, please settle with these people, they need ten million dollars, which we stole.

“As soon as these ten million are received in their accounts, they will immediately let me go to the place where they took me.”

Police previously suggested that they are hunting six suspects – identified only as RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH. Cops believe four have them may have already fled the country.

Body parts wash up on Bali beach after son of Ukrainian ‘kingpin’ begged for help in chilling ransom vid

Igor Komarov, 28, said his abductors had ‘already chopped off some of his limbs’ in the haunting video

Police have made a grisly discovery while searching for the son of a Ukrainian businessman who was reportedly kidnapped for a $10 million ransom.

Igor Komarov was last seen begging for help from his ‘mummy and daddy’ in a chilling video which has been circulating online, while listing off an array of horrific injuries his abductors allegedly inflicted upon him.

The 28-year-old, who hails from the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, pleaded with his parents to hand over the huge sum in exchange for his freedom in the haunting footage – but body parts have now washed up in Bali.

Igor had been holidaying on the Indonesian island with his influencer girlfriend, Yesa Mishalova, when he is said to have been abducted on 15 February.

He was reportedly ambushed while riding a scooter in Jimbaran, Badung – and it is suspected that the pictures his partner uploaded to Instagram may have informed the kidnappers of their location, the Daily Mail reports.

Yesa had been sharing regular updates of their travels online since early January, but these posts have since come to an abrupt stop.

The final snap that the 25-year-old uploaded of her and Igor showed them sporting swimwear on a boat as they celebrated Valentine’s Day and she captioned the post: “F*ck 14 February, love you everyday.”

Reports claim that Igor was abducted the following day by a gang who appear to have accused his father, businessman Sergey Komarov, of ‘stealing ten million’ from them.

Komarov has been dubbed a ‘criminal authority’ by some Ukrainian outlets and has been given the nickname ‘Komar’ or ‘moquito’, allegedly a reference to his aggressiveness and ability to suck in profits from schemes, according to local outlet UKRNEWS Live.

According to another local outlet RTVI, Sergey Komarov is suspected of having been the leader of Ukrainian organised crime groups since the collapse of the USSR.

In 2023, Sergey was detained by the Ukrainian security services on suspicion of extortion, but he has never been convicted of a crime.

Footage emerged online on 19 February, which seems to show a black and blue Igor begging his mother and father for ‘help’, while claiming that his captives had already began hacking off his limbs.

In the disturbing video, he appears to sport two black eyes and lifts his left arm up to the camera – which appears to be missing his hand. Police in Bali are still working to verify the video.

“Mummy, Daddy, I beg you, help me please,” Igor is seen saying. “You stole those ten million, which they ask for, return these ten million please.

“I will return everything to all those people from whom you have taken; they already chopped off some of my limbs, I have broken legs [and they] punched my rib cage.”

“I’m already on meds, I already have no limbs,” he wails. “An infection will start soon. I ask you very much, this is a very serious organisation, please help me. No one can find me, neither mafiosos, no one.

“I was already taken to another country. Bring me home, what[ever] is left of me at the moment, please settle with these people, they need ten million dollars, which we stole.”

Igor goes on to say that his kidnappers will ‘immediately let him go to the place where they took him’ if his parents transferred the $10 million.

On Friday (27 February), police in Bali then discovered a severed head, torso, limbs and internal organs washed up on beaches near the Wos River estuary.

Forensic experts estimate that the human remains belonged to a person who had been dead for at least three days prior.

Investigators are now carrying out DNA testing to confirm the victim’s identity.

Officials have taken a sample from Igor’s mother to compare the remains to.

Bali Police spokesperson, Senior Commissioner Ariasandy, confirmed that authorities in Bali are working in tandem with the Ukraine consulate.

However, there is no official confirmation that the dismembered body belongs to Igor at this stage and police are currently treating the kidnapping and the discovery of the remains as ‘two different cases’.

“The DNA samples will be compared with those of family members who have reported a missing person or kidnapping, including the foreign national reported earlier,” Ariasandy said last week.

“We cannot speculate. All possibilities are being investigated, but conclusions must be based on scientific investigation and forensic results.”

Cops previously revealed that they had descended on a villa in the regency of Tabanan, which is where they suspect the alleged ransom video of Igor could have been recorded.

GPS data from a minibus that was supposedly rented by the kidnappers led police to the property and Ariasandy said of the force’s findings last week: “At that villa, blood traces identical to the victim’s were found. Traces were also discovered inside the car. We have checked the blood we found in the car, and it is identical with the DNA of the victim’s mother.”

Police said they are hunting six suspects – identified only as RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH. Cops believe four have them may have already fled the country.
