Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance Deepens Into a Haunting Mystery: Sheriff Confirms Daughter Was the Last Person to See Her Before She Vanished as Family Reveals Troubling Details Behind Her Final Facebook Post, New Statements Reopen Questions About What Really Happened in the Hours Before She Went Missing, and Newly Surfaced Surveillance Footage Now Shows the Last Known Moments She Was Seen Alive
Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie, has been reported missing in her home state of Arizona. According to authorities, the 84-year-old was last seen at her home in Catalina Foothills on Saturday, January 31.

Nancy’s last Facebook post appears to have been uploaded on January 27, just four days before she was reported missing. On that day, Nancy uploaded a Reel from Instagram about Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old American intensive care nurse who was shot by ICE during a protest in Minnesota.
Less than one hour earlier, Nancy shared a video explaining Mahjong, a popular four player tile game. Prior to that, Nancy was active on Facebook, with most of her re-shares and uploads consisting of political content.
Nancy also has an Instagram account, but it is private.
In a press conference on Sunday, Feb. 1, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared some additional details about the case. He said that search and rescue teams were searching by ground and by air and he confirmed that a homicide team has been brought in to aid in the investigation.
“We’re pretty much just throwing everything at this that we can. Guthrie is 84 years old and is not of good physical health, and so naturally that’s a great concern,” Nanos told reporters. “This is very concerning to us. We don’t typically get the sheriff out at a scene like this. But it’s very concerning what we’re learning from the house,” he continued, adding, “And so we’ll just continue. The detective’s homicide team is out right now looking at the scene as well.”
Savannah was absent from Today on Monday, Feb. 2. She did release a statement, thanking fans for their thoughts and prayers and encouraging anyone with information to contact authorities.

Savannah Guthrie’s sister, Annie Guthrie, was the last person to see their mother, Nancy Guthrie, before she went missing in Arizona, where she lives.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Us Weekly on Monday that Annie, who went to dinner with Nancy on Saturday night, didn’t notice any “red flags” about her mom’s behavior throughout the evening.
Nanos said “the family took her home from dinner at about 9:30 to 9:45 [p.m.],” so investigators “would back that up to even say 9 or 8:30 p.m. to start looking.”

At around 11 the next morning, a parishioner at Nancy’s church called her family to let them know that she did not attend that morning’s service, which was unusual, Nanos explained during a press conference Monday morning.
The family then went to Nancy’s house to look for her and called 911 at around 12:15 p.m.
Therefore, investigators believe Nancy went missing between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.

“This is an 84-year-old lady who is safe in her own home, asleep, and she is taken. That should never happen,” Nanos told Us Weekly, adding that Savannah did not “raise any concerns” about her mom’s health prior to her disappearance.
Nancy lives alone in her home, located in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Tucson.
She has “physical ailments” and mobility issues that prevent her from walking more than 50 yards by herself, according to her family, but she is “of great sound mind” and “sharp as a tack,” so it’s unlikely that she “just wandered off.”
