A 2-YEAR-OLD VANISHES FROM HER BED OVERNIGHT… BUT NO ONE HAS SEEN HER IN WEEKS How does a toddler just disappear from her own home at 3 a.m.—door found open—while her mom sleeps?

That’s the nightmare unfolding in Enterprise, Alabama. Little Genesis Nova Reid (age 2, turning 3 soon) was reported missing early Monday by her mother, Adrienne Reid, who said she woke up to find the child’s bedroom empty and the front door ajar. Pink Minnie Mouse pajamas. Tiny black hair, brown eyes. Only 2 feet 5 inches tall, 25-30 pounds.

Police launched a massive search—wooded areas, drainage pipes, even cadaver dogs on day three. “Thank God we didn’t find anything,” one official said. But here’s the gut-wrenching twist that’s shaking everyone:

A desperate search continues for 2-year-old Genesis Nova Reid, who was reported missing from her Enterprise apartment early Monday morning, but authorities now say the child had not been seen by neighbors or others for weeks, leading to her mother’s arrest on felony charges and a $1 million cash bond.

The Enterprise Police Department received the initial report around 3 a.m. on February 16, 2026, from 33-year-old Adrienne Reid. She told officers she woke to check on her daughter and found Genesis’s bedroom empty, with the front door of their Apache Drive apartment open. Genesis was described as a Black female with black hair, brown eyes, standing about 2 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 25-30 pounds. She was last reportedly wearing pink Minnie Mouse pajamas.

Police immediately launched an investigation and search efforts. By Tuesday, February 17, after multiple interviews and inconsistencies in Adrienne Reid’s account, she was charged with false reporting to law enforcement authorities, a Class C felony. Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox stated in court that Reid is “the only known suspect” in her daughter’s disappearance, alleging she has hidden or destroyed evidence and poses a flight risk.

Reid appeared via Zoom before District Judge Josh Wilson on Wednesday, February 18. The judge set bond at $1 million cash only. If posted, strict conditions apply: GPS monitoring, daily check-ins at the Enterprise Police Department, participation in a court referral program with active drug screening, and no leaving Coffee County without court permission. Until bond is posted, she remains in custody at the Coffee County Jail.

Search operations intensified over the following days. With assistance from East Alabama Canine Search and Recovery, teams scoured wooded areas surrounding the apartment complex, including drainage and sewer pipes. On Wednesday, a certified cadaver dog was deployed around the complex and nearby woods—a standard step to rule out foul play in the immediate vicinity. Police Chief Michael Moore noted no evidence tied to Genesis was found, adding, “Thank God we didn’t find anything,” according to reports.

Investigators emphasized that the child’s whereabouts remain unknown. They are actively seeking anyone who has seen Genesis in the past 30 days or had contact with Adrienne Reid between December 24, 2025, and February 16, 2026. Even minor details could prove significant. Digital billboards displaying Genesis’s photo and information have been placed along Boll Weevil Circle to generate tips.

Neighbors at Meadowbrook Apartments told media outlets, including WTVY and NewsNation affiliates, that they had not seen the toddler for several weeks—some saying over a month. One neighbor noted the usual mother-daughter walks had stopped, raising early suspicions about the timeline of her disappearance.

Authorities have described the case as active and ongoing, with involvement from local, state, and federal agencies. The Enterprise Police Department has stressed community support while warning the public against entering active search areas to avoid compromising efforts or safety.

No evidence of abduction by an outsider has been publicly confirmed. Prosecutors have stopped short of labeling the case a homicide but maintain that Adrienne Reid is the only person who knows Genesis’s location. The DA reiterated the primary goal: “to locate Genesis and bring her home safely.”

The toddler’s father and other relatives are cooperating fully with investigators. Police have not released additional details about family dynamics or potential motives behind any alleged false reporting.

The disappearance has gripped the Enterprise community, a small city in Coffee County known for its military ties to nearby Fort Novosel. Residents have expressed shock and concern, with calls for continued vigilance and information sharing.

As of February 19, 2026, Genesis remains missing. No new physical evidence has been announced from the searches. Authorities continue targeted investigative work, reviewing tips, and urging the public to come forward without hesitation.

The high bond and felony charge reflect prosecutors’ view of the case’s seriousness. Reid’s criminal history includes prior records of violent offenses, according to some reports, though details remain limited.

For now, the focus stays on finding a vulnerable 2-year-old girl who vanished under circumstances that grow more troubling by the day. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Enterprise Police Department at (334) 347-2222.

The community watches anxiously, hoping the next update brings Genesis home—safe and unharmed.
