Horror at Idaho Air Show: Two Navy Jets Collide Mid-Air in Front of Terrified Crowd – Pilots Eject in Miraculous Escape… But What Happened Next Shocks Everyone

Two jets crashed in midair at an air show in Idaho on Sunday — but all four crew members were able to safely eject, according to reports.

The two aircraft were taking part in the Gunfighters Air Show at the Mountain Home Air Force Base, some 50 miles southeast of Boise, when they crashed, KTVB reported.

Pictures from the scene show a huge plume of black smoke pouring into the sky following the crash, which happened on the second day of the air show.

“We had four good parachutes. The crews were able to eject,” an air show announcer told the crowd, according to the Idaho Statesman.

“They’re located one mile south of where the smoke is. The parachutes came down,” the announcer continued.

“Crash fire rescue and various other emergency services are on their way to the pilots and crew. There were four good parachutes,” the announcer said in a later statement.

“That is always a positive in our world. If you are so inclined to take the time now to say a prayer,” the announcer concluded.

Both aircraft appeared to be flying extremely close together when they collided and seemingly became entangled, hurtling toward the ground as sparks shot off.

The two jets, which appear to be Navy Super Hornet fighters, smashed into the runway with an enormous bang, producing a huge fireball and a cloud of smoke.

Organizers, the Mountain Home Gunfighters, confirmed that the base was on lockdown in a statement posted on social media.

This was the first time the air show had been held in eight years, after the last event in 2018 saw a hang glider pilot die in an accident, reported the Idaho Stateman.

In 2003, a pilot in the Thunderbirds squadron was forced to eject after his plane crashed during the event.

The base did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
