‘We’d been out for a lovely meal. Tom and Kaz came back to our room, had a quick glass of wine, kids played. Then as she was going to bed at 11pm, I gave her a hug, and my acrylic nail bent right back.

‘My whole nail came off. It was pouring with blood. Then it stopped and this nerve throbbed, which was going down my whole arm, down my shoulder, up my neck.’

She continued: ‘The doctor came to the room at 3am, put me on a drip for painkillers. When we were calling down to hotel reception, I was like “Can we have some paracetamol?” They said: “We can’t give you paracetamol, we can’t give you ibuprofen.” So we had to wait for a doctor — that was two hours. Then the doctor came, and said, “I’m going to put you on a drip.” That was another two hours.

‘Then Lucinda [her friend] picked me up at 8am, took me to the hospital. I met the most phenomenal doctor, he was fabulous, because I’ve got a phobia of hospitals, and he was just wonderful. They injected all my hand. They had to numb it – ugh and that relief. Because I’d been up from 11pm to 7am crying, hand under hot water, cold water, arm up, arm down.

‘It sounds so pathetic. It sounds ridiculous.’

Peter then said: ‘I had golf the next day. I went, “Lads, I’m not going to be able to play, we’ve been up all night. There’s no way we can come. Abs is in the hospital.”

‘They said, “Oh my God, what’s up?” I said, “She’s broken a nail.” They said, “Are you actually joking?” I was like, “No I swear it’s bad.”‘

Abbey added: ‘The doctor was like, “No form of painkiller will stop this pain — you need nerve blocker.” So they removed my nail.’

It comes after Abbey credited ‘amazing’ husband Peter for throwing her surprise 40th birthday party in the heart of Paris.

Abbey, who reached the milestone on January 10, was blindsided after the former Stoke City and England footballer whisked her off to the city of love, unaware that family and friends from all over the world were already waiting there to surprise her.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the model admitted she was touched by the gesture, while praising Crouch for his thoughtfulness in arranging a surprise party.

She wrote: ‘What a weekend for my 40th birthday, I feel so so loved thank you to my amazing husband and my wonderful family and friends who have travelled from all over the world to surprise me in Paris, love you all.’

The post included an assortment of photos from her big day after she and Crouch checked in at the five-star Mandarin Oriental Lutetia on the capital’s Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Among images of the couple’s immaculate double bed, personalised pillowcases, and Clancy’s elegant evening wear hung from a clothes rail, the model also shared photos of herself surrounded by friends and family while dining out at a Paris restaurant.

Elsewhere, Abbey posed for a bathroom selfie while apparently braless beneath a striking cream dress, complete with a thigh-high slash.

However Peter forgot a pricey gift for her 40th birthday on the London Underground the week before.

Peter left behind a bag from luxurious diamond jeweller Jessica McCormack following his trip to their shop in Mayfair.

While it is not known what Peter had purchased, the brand, who boasts Zoe Kravitzas a spokeswoman, sells high-end jewellery costing as much as £300,000.

One fellow passenger spotted his blunder and kindly handed the gift to rail staff before reaching out to the couple on Instagram.

According to The Sun, she replied: ‘Oh my God, it’s my birthday tomorrow. Must have been my present.’

The passenger shared a clip of the lost bag to TikTok with the caption: ‘POV: Peter Crouch leaves Abbey’s birthday present on the Tube.’

The Daily Mail contacted Peter’s representatives for comment at the time.

HORROR AFTER A 911 CALL: Neighbors reported hearing “guttural screams” tearing through the night outside a quiet Scottsdale home. When police arrived, they were met with a scene few could comprehend — a mother, bloodied and stabbed, lying outside the garage. What officers discovered next was even more disturbing: her 24-year-old daughter, Ashland Trinity Crank, kneeling over her body, unclothed except for a head covering, frozen in place as sirens filled the air.
The search for Nancy Guthrie has moved from the streets of Arizona to the driveway of her own son-in-law. Authorities have seized Tommaso Cioni’s car for forensic processing after blood evidence at the home raised red flags that could no longer be ignored. Sources say the mood on the ground has shifted from ‘search and rescue’ to ‘homicide investigation.’ As the timeline tightens around the family, the 6th-grade teacher is now standing at the center of a storm. Is the truth hidden in the DNA of that impounded car?
The net is closing in on Tommaso Cioni. New reports suggest that Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law is now a prime suspect after a dark secret emerged—a massive, unpaid gambling debt that has been haunting his finances. Being the last person to have contact with the 84-year-old mother before she vanished, his ‘calm’ demeanor is now being viewed through a much darker lens. Law enforcement is ‘looking at everyone,’ but the trail of money leads straight to a potential motive for abduction.
