Man Allegedly Lured 2 Girls, Ages 10 and 16, from Their Home by Using Online Game Roblox’s Chat Feature

Two missing girls, who were allegedly lured from their home in Mexico by a man using online game Roblox’s chat feature, have been found alive.
Nezahualcóyotl residents Mary Beabey, 16, and Sabine Yohumi, 10, were located at a major bus terminal in Mexico City after being missing for about a week, according to a statement shared by the Municipal Government of Nezahualcóyotl on Saturday, Jan. 17.
An investigation found that a man allegedly chatted with the minors via Roblox, which prompted them to leave their home in Nezahualcóyotl.
PEOPLE reached out to the General Police Station of Civil Security of Nezahualcóyotl for comment about the man’s identity and charges on Sunday, Jan. 18, but did not receive an immediate response.

Officials initially went to an address in Campeche related to the case, but didn’t locate the girls.
After receiving information from a family member, police found Beabey and Yohumi at the East Passenger Bus Terminal (TAPO) in Mexico City. They were believed to have traveled there from Campeche.

“According to the information gathered, it is presumed that their absence was voluntary,” police said.
The girls were taken care of by specialized personnel once located.

The post included photos of the rescue, including one of the two girls surrounded by officials. A taller girl was pictured in jeans and sneakers with a black sweatshirt. The other girl wore a black jacket, a pink shirt, pink sweatpants with a zebra pattern down the side and sneakers.
In another picture, the taller girl appeared to be carrying a black purse and a light pink Labubu doll. Others show the shorter girl with a gray backpack and the outside of the bus terminal.

Police in Campeche, the Commission of Searching Persons of the State of Mexico and the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office assisted with the investigation.
Mexican newspaper El Universal reported that Beabey and Yohumi were sisters. Their parents obtained security footage that showed them leaving their home on Jan. 9 with suitcases.
The girls were walking alone in the footage.
