Cars TORCHED at Lyons garage in Glasgow & scene of infamous murder as night of mayhem ‘throws fuel’ on gangland war

A GARAGE where a member of Glasgow’s notorious Lyons family was murdered has been targeted in a gangland firebomb attack.

Emergency crews raced to Lambhill Motors on Balmore Road in the early hours of this morning after receiving reports of two cars and a van on fire.

The flames were extinguished by firefighters after the alarm was raised at around 1.30am.

The garage, previously owned by David Lyons, was the scene of a triple shooting in December 2006.

Michael Lyons, 21, died in that attack and two other men, including Steven Lyons, were seriously injured.

The firebomb attacks at the garage is just the latest incident in the ongoing gangland turf war raging across Scotland for over a year now and comes just days after kingpin Steven Lyons was arrested in Bali.

A source said: “The garage is very significant in the history of the feud.

“This really is the actions of people looking to twist the knife into the Lyons gang especially after the arrest of Steven and the recent murders of Eddie and Ross Monaghan.

“The garage is infamous for the murder of Michael Lyons and Steven was also shot that day and lucky to survive.

“This won’t be lost on the people behind this attack and throws fuel on the fire of a war that shows no sign of stopping.”

The vehicle fires at the garage came just hours after an associate of gangland kingpin Mark Richardson was allegedly attacked with machetes.

A 31-year-old man was left “in a bad way” following the alleged attack at around 11.15pm on Drummohr Avenue in Musselburgh, and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Two men, aged 38 and 43, were arrested in connection with the alleged blade attack.

And yesterday, we told how the notorious Daniel family were targeted in a new wave of late night firebomb attacks.

Cops and emergency services were called to two separate car fires in Glasgow at addresses believed to be linked to the crime family.

Another source said: “The Lyons mob are trying to hit back but they are only hitting soft targets to try and frighten people. They don’t have any real muscle.

“The Daniel crew know where to hit their enemies where it hurts.

“The attack on the garage was in direct retaliation to the L Mob having a go at women linked to the the Daniel gang.

“That’s the second time one of the Daniel women has had her vehicle burnt out.

“She’s been threatening to flee her home but has been told it would make them look weak.

“The D Mob are showing them they know all their family’s address and businesses. They can hit soft targets too although they haven’t been doing that.

“The MOT station will go completely if this continues. Its on borrowed time.

“The D Mob hit cars in Maryhill last night as well, it’s all linked.”

We told how the turf was started on March 6 last year when Logan Carlin, 25, set fire to a beauty salon run by Richardson’s partner, Stephanie Dignan. He was jailed for seven years and four months for the attack.

It was the first in a wave of attacks linked to a bitter revenge plot ordered by then Dubai-based Ross ‘Miami‘ McGill, 31 over claims Richardson stooges had used fake cash to rip him off in a cocaine deal.

The chaos spread from the capital to Glasgow where members of the Daniel family were targeted including a pensioner and a 12-year-old.

The escalating war blew-up in Spain in May last year when Lyons gang hoods Eddie Lyons Jnr, 46, and Ross Monaghan, 43, were shot dead in a Fuengirola bar.

Michael Riley, 44, of Huyton, Liverpool, was extradited from the UK to Spain last October to face trial for the assassinations.

We previously told of claims a former suspect in the notorious murder of Daniel enforcer Kevin ‘Gerbil’ Carroll is leading the Lyons mob in Scotland.

Victor Gallagher, 50, is said to have taken over the gang’s operations while boss Steven Lyons, 45, is in custody after his arrest in Bali.

The mob boss was paraded by cops in an orange jumpsuit at a press conference wearing a black mask last week following his capture.

Lyons’ wife Amanda was also arrested in Dubai in a co-ordinated swoop as 13 alleged members of his gang were nicked in Scotland and Spain.

The swoops were linked to an alleged plot to swamp Scotland with “hundreds of kilos of cocaine”.

The gang war violence prompted cops to launch Operation Portaledge in a bid to tackle the escalating tensions.

So far, they have made 63 arrests in connection with the war as well as having seized drugs worth £80million over the last 12 months.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of two cars and a van on fire at a garage on Balmore Road in Glasgow around 1.30am on Tuesday, 7 April, 2026.

“The fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.
