Jesy Nelson has shared an emotional update that has left fans heartbroken, revealing that her nine-month-old twin daughters, Ocean and Story, are back in hospital following their devastating spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) diagnosis.

The former Little Mix star, 34, welcomed her girls with ex-fiancé Zion Foster in May last year. Born nine weeks prematurely, Ocean and Story spent the first weeks of their lives in hospital — and now, months later, they find themselves back in a ward once again.

Last month, Jesy bravely disclosed that her daughters had been diagnosed with SMA, a rare genetic condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. Doctors have warned her that the girls may never regain strength in their necks and could potentially never walk. Since the diagnosis, Jesy and Zion have parted ways, marking another painful chapter during an already overwhelming time.

Taking to Instagram, Jesy posted a tender photo of Ocean and Story lying side-by-side in a hospital bed, tiny hands clasped together. Both babies were fitted with feeding tubes and tucked beneath a soft blanket as they watched television.

Writing over the image, the singer’s emotion was clear. She simply penned: Watching TV together holding hands. My heart.

Jesy did not explain why the twins had been readmitted, but only days earlier she had told followers that her home had begun to resemble a hospital ward as she adjusted to their complex medical needs.

Despite the heartbreak, Jesy also shared moments of warmth. The day before, she posted sweet snaps of the girls bundled up against the winter chill during a walk, lovingly calling them “Ocean Bear” and “Story Bear”.

The update comes just days before the release of her new Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix documentary on Prime Video, which premieres on February 13. In it, Jesy promises an unfiltered look at life after leaving Little Mix — including her traumatic pregnancy, the twins’ premature birth, and the ongoing health battle that has reshaped her world.
