It was a year filled with scandal amid her parents Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are reportedly “resisting” Sarah moving in with them in Portugal, where they live with their two young sons.
Amid scandal around her association with Jeffrey Epstein, Sarah Ferguson’s whereabouts remain unknown—and new reports indicate that her daughter Princess Eugenie and Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank are “refusing” to let Sarah move in with them after Sarah was evicted from Royal Lodge last month.

Sarah had lived in the 30-room mansion on the Windsor estate with her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor—formerly Prince Andrew—since 2008. The former couple moved out of Royal Lodge on February 2, just days after the latest tranche of Epstein files were released by the U.S. Department of Justice in late January. While Andrew relocated to a property on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, Sarah is thought to have been visiting various locations—mostly wellness retreats—everywhere from the United Arab Emirates to the French Alps, Switzerland, and Ireland.

A new report by The Daily Mail indicates that Jack is reportedly putting his foot down and not allowing Sarah to move in with him, Eugenie, and their two young sons, who live in Portugal. Despite being “concerned about her welfare,” Jack and Eugenie are apparently “resisting any suggestion” that Sarah might seek temporary refuge in their home, according to Hello!.
The Daily Mail added that, while Jack is fiercely loyal to his family, he doesn’t want to be “tainted by association”—and that his priority remains protecting Eugenie and their sons August and Ernest.

Speaking of Eugenie, March 23 is her 36th birthday, and Hello! reported that the royal is battling a “complete and utter personal crisis” just over one month after her father was arrested on his own birthday on February 19. He was held for roughly 11 hours on suspicion of misconduct in public office and released later that same day; the investigation remains ongoing, but he has not been charged and has always denied any wrongdoing.
Though Andrew was stripped of all of his royal titles and privileges in October 2025, both Eugenie and her older sister Princess Beatrice retain their princess titles and Her Royal Highness stylings.

“I’ve got sympathy for both Beatrice and Eugenie, and I’d like to see them somehow rehabilitated and used properly in the royal family,” The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson said on Hello!’s “A Right Royal Podcast.” He added, “I think the King wants her, wants them both, to not pay for the sins of their parents, but I’m not sure there is mass public sympathy for them at the moment. They’re probably going through a complete and utter personal crisis.”
“I don’t like bad things to happen to people when they haven’t actually done anything wrong themselves, but I think they can hope,” he continued. “I think there are enough support structures around them and enough money.”

Royal biographer Robert Jobson previously told Hello! that Beatrice and Eugenie have “been very sympathetic” to their mother Sarah, and a family friend added that the sisters “are not abandoning their father,” telling the outlet, “They aren’t turning their backs on him. But everything is obviously very strained and hard.”
