Several Fox & Friends viewers have noticed that one of the show’s beloved commentators has been absent from their chair this month. Many have taken to social media to voice concern over the media personality’s whereabouts.
“Where is Lawrence Jones?” one watcher, Tracey McCall, wrote on social media. “He hasn’t been on Fox [News] in a while!”
Others, like supporter Steve Horton, expressed disappointment with the network, saying its “inconsistency” with not having its regular hosts “destroyed the continuity” they thought it established.
“Today, NONE of the 3 hosts were on,” Horton said in a post. “Where is Lawrence Jones?”
Jones, a Texas native, broke his silence late on Tuesday, January 20, explaining the reason behind his disappearance. A co-host of the program for roughly three years, he joins former San Antonio anchor Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade in the studio at 6 a.m. (EST) daily.
“I recently underwent eye surgery,” the anchor wrote in a post on X. “I’ll share the details of my experience with you all in the future.”
Jones added that he was “doing well” and would be “returning to work soon.”
He continued, “God is truly remarkable. Fox has been incredibly supportive throughout this process, ensuring that I receive the best possible care.”
The thirty-three-year-old has been missing from the airwaves for about two weeks, per the Houston Chronicle, sparking concerns that he would soon be replaced with another co-host. Viewers of the network expressed relief after his update, with fellow Fox News anchor Kevin Corke sharing an encouraging “get well soon” with Jones in the post’s comment section.
Who is FOX’s Lawrence Jones?
Jones became a permanent co-host of Fox & Friends in September 2023, though he has been with the network since 2018. The promotion from his previous role, an enterprise reporter, made him the youngest Black co-host on cable news, per Deadline.
In his bio on X, Jones describes himself as “A Texan living in New York City.” Jones hails from the City of Garland, based within the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, according to his LinkedIn.
Prior to joining Fox News Media, he was a host for Dallas’s TheBlaze and Editor in Chief of Campus Reform, based in Washington.
