Brooklyn Beckham blasts parents Victoria Beckham and David Beckham in social media tirade about family drama

The 26-year-old criticized his famous parents amid speculation about a family rift following his marriage to actress Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn Beckham, the son of Spice Girls music icon Victoria Beckham and former soccer star David Beckham, has made a shocking series of social media posts slamming his parents amid family drama surrounding his marriage to actress Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn, 26, shared several incendiary posts to his Instagram Story on Monday, referencing what he said was an ongoing rift in the family, made worse by what he called “lies” allegedly spread in the press by his mother and father.

“I have been silent for years and have made every effort to keep these matters private,” Brooklyn began, going on to say, “I do not want to reconcile with my family” in reference to the feud.

“I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he continued.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for David and Victoria Beckham, as well as their other sons, Cruz and Romeo James.

Brooklyn made a wide range of claims about his parents and brothers in the six text posts shared to his account on Monday. But his family’s alleged treatment of his relationship with actress Nicola Peltz, and their behavior around the couple’s 2022 wedding, predominated.

“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he claimed. Brooklyn alleged that Victoria, who launched an eponymous fashion label in 2008, planned to make Peltz’s wedding dress, but cancelled “in the eleventh hour,” forcing a hasty last-minute change of plans.

He also alleged that his parents “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name.” After he held out on the deal, “they have never treated me the same since.” Brooklyn claimed that David and Victoria even “went so far as to call me ‘evil'” for seating his grandmother, Sandra, and Peltz’s grandmother at their wedding table, while his parents sat at their own adjacent table.

Sandra, David’s mother, has been supportive of her grandson throughout the alleged family strife, commenting positively on a post he shared to Instagram shortly after he attracted attention for missing his father’s 50th birthday celebration in May.

Regarding that birthday, Brooklyn claimed that he and Peltz traveled to share in the bash but “were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.” To Brooklyn, this is another example that his “family values public promotion and endorsements [coming] above all else. Brand Beckham comes first.”

Peltz has been excluded from “Brand Beckham” since she and Brooklyn first began dating in 2020, he claimed. In one of Monday’s posts, he alleged that “members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family.'” He and Peltz have “received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.” Even Romeo James, 23, and Cruz, 20 have been “sent to attack me on social media,” Brooklyn claimed.

David and Victoria also share a daughter, 15-year-old Harper Seven Beckham, but Brooklyn did not mention her in his posts.

The final indignity Brooklyn claimed to have suffered regarding his wedding occurred when Victoria allegedly “hijacked my first dance with my wife.” The “romantic dance,” introduced by Marc Anthony to their over 500 guests had been “planned weeks in advance,” but according to Brooklyn, his mother “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.”

“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he said of the moment. “We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”

Brooklyn decried what he says counts as “family ‘love'” to the Beckhams: “How much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations”

He then rebutted “the narrative that my wife controls,” countering, “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.” The Beckham’s eldest child ended by noting, “For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family,” his “anxiety has disappeared,” finally claiming that all he and Peltz want are “peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”

Speculation of a rift between Brooklyn and the rest of his family has been ramping up since 2022, when fans noticed that Peltz, as her husband noted in Monday’s posts, didn’t wear one of Victoria’s designs on their wedding day. Brooklyn was no longer following his parents on Instagram as of December, and at the end of the year, David left his eldest out of a 2025 recap post to social media.

Rather than celebrate the recent run of holidays with his own family, Brooklyn made the decision to spend the holidays with his wife’s family.
