A CHILLING clue appears to have been missed right on the doorstep of missing Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TV host Savannah Guthrie.
Shocking surveillance footage has captured the moment an armed subject disguised in a ski mask, and wearing gloves, and a backpack approached Nancy’s home on the night she disappeared.

The just-released vid shows the unknown person bizarrely tearing plants from the property.
It’s the first major breakthrough in the investigation that has stumped investigators.
The photos and surveillance footage was today released by the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
A law enforcement official said the images were recovered from a Google Nest camera on Guthrie’s front doorbell.

And at one point in the footage, the masked person appears to try to block the CCTV camera with foliage.
The vid shows them grabbing a handful of the plant in an effort to hide a clear view of themselves on the doorstep.
They then appear to damage the plant in the process.
“Law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote in an X post accompanying the released images.

The urgent investigation into the apparent kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, 84, continues.
It’s now been 10 days since she was abducted.
Up until now, authorities have released few details.
Officials said they believe she was taken against her will two weekends ago from the Tucson, Arizona, home where she lives alone.
Police have said the camera was disabled in the early hours of February 1.
The octogenarian’s pacemaker was disconnected from her phone – also in the pre-dawn hours of February 1.

Guthrie disappeared from her Tucson home hours after relatives dropped her there on January 31.
Law enforcement officials have said they have had no breakthroughs in the baffling case.
At least two ransom notes purporting to be from her abducters were delivered initially to media outlets.
We believe she is still alive. Bring her home
Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have made several videos pleading for the public to help with tips.
They’ve also begged the kidnappers to return their mom or communicate with them directly.
The family has also said that they would pay a ransom.
“We believe she is still alive. Bring her home,” said Savannah Guthrie said today, while sharing the new CCTV images on Instagram.
“Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department 520-351-4900,” she added.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI have today posted a statement on social media to update the public on new evidence they’ve now uncovered:
“Authorities are referring to the person in the photo as a potential subject, which does not specifically mean they are a suspect or person of interest,” FBI Director Kash Patel shared on X.
“Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices.
“The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.
“Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance.”
The FBI is asking anyone with information to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit http://tips.fbi.gov.

Within minutes, her plea had thousands of comments.
“The cruelty of this situation is unfathomable,” responded one person.
“Praying every single day. Please somebody if you know something you see something you hear something report it.
“I have lost so much sleep over this. My parents live about 2 miles from Nancy and are around the same age.
“This is heartbreaking beyond measure.”
What we know about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance…
Today host Savannah Guthrie’s mom has been missing for a week after being abducted from her home in Tucson
Blood drops were seen on the home’s front step
Nancy’s son-in-law was the last person to see her
Local and federal authorities have no suspects, and no leads
Multiple news outlets have been sent ransom letters that contain specific details about Nancy’s home and clothing
The first ransom deadline passed five days after the abduction, and a second deadline on is said to contain “much more serious” conditions
911 reports were made of a suspected trespasser lurking in a neighbor’s yard weeks before the abduction
Cops seize car from Nancy’s home and remove roof camera
According to officials, a family member dropped Guthrie at home after dining with her.
Worried relatives reported her missing the following day when she failed to show up as expected for Sunday church services.
Investigators had hoped that cameras at the missing woman’s home would turn up some evidence about how she went missing.
BREAKTHROUGH
But they then discovered the doorbell camera had been disconnected.
Although software data recorded movement at the home minutes later, Nancy Guthrie didn’t have an active subscription.
That meant that none of the footage could be recovered, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos had previously said.
However, the new images released today were “recovered from residual data located in backend systems.”
And they were obtained after investigators had spent days trying to find images or video that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible, Patel said.

MYSTERY VISITOR
The family and law enforcement do not recognize the person captured in the CCTV footage, reported NBC News.
So the FBI has shared the pics and vids publicly in the hopes that someone may recognize the person – or their clothing.
The footage shows the person with a possible gun holster attached in front of their stomach.
Another video shows the person purposefully tilting their head down while nearing the front archway.
The breakthrough comes a day after a traumatized Savannah Guthrie issued a bleak plea.
“We are at an hour of desperation,” she said on Monday, while begging the public: “We need your help.”
BLOOD
DNA tests have shown that blood on Nancy Guthrie’s front porch was a match to her.
There are growing fears for her health, as she needs daily medication due to high blood pressure and heart issues, including a pacemaker.
Investigators are today expanding the search and following up on new leads, the sheriff’s department said.
The FBI has also this week begun posting digital billboards in major cities from Texas to California.
“Someone has that one piece of information that can help us bring Nancy home,” according to FBI spokesman Connor Hagan.
It’s heartbreaking to see
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Donald Trump has watched the new surveillance footage.

He was in “pure disgust” about the kidnapping, and has encouraged anyone with information to call the FBI, she added.
