He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court today charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife on school premises.

Prosecutor Josephine Jones said CCTV of a toilet area at the school showed a boy “all in black wearing a black mask” carrying a “carving knife with a lengthy blade”.

She added: “The victim had been stabbed to the back.”

Ms Jones said the defendant fled but was arrested by police nearby as the school was placed in lockdown.

A search at his home allegedly showed information that he was “looking for specific victims”, the court was told.

The teen, who spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth, was remanded into youth detention accommodation.

He will next appear at Norwich Crown Court on April 10.

The horror unfolded at around 10.20am on Wednesday after the girl was stabbed.
