With her remarkable sense of style, it’s easy to assume that the Princess of Wales has a personal stylist working tirelessly behind the scenes.
According to palace insiders, however, it is Kate, 43, who meticulously curates every one of her ensembles for official engagements.
Insiders told The Times that nobody has replaced Natasha Archer who stepped down as Kate’s senior private executive assistant and stylist earlier this year to set up her own consultancy after 15 years of service.
Sources said the future Queen is ‘very much in control’ of her wardrobe, making it even more impressive that she recently landed a special mention in Vogue’s Best Dressed Brits list of 2025.
The fashion bible defined her as a ‘culture shaper’ thanks to the ‘Kate effect’ that often propels little-known labels into the global spotlight overnight when they’re seen on the princess.
Among her most unforgettable gowns of the past year were the outfits she wore when mingling with French, American, and German world leaders at state banquets.
What’s more, the princess has cleverly used her outfit choices to wield the power of soft diplomacy the royals are so adept at.
For instance, when Donald Trump was hosted by the King at Windsor Castle in July, Kate personally chose a gold Phillipa Lepley gown – knowing it’s the President’s favourite colour.
Her success was complete when, after sitting next to her at dinner, Mr Trump declared the princess was ‘so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful’.

In July, Kate was the picture of poise in a dramatic dark red silk crepe gown, designed by Sarah Burton for Givenchy, when she made a dazzling return to high-profile royal duties as she attended her first state banquet for more than 18 months for the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and his wife Brigitte.
