Vanessa Trump is “happy” with boyfriend Tiger Woods, though she “has her hands full sometimes,” a source tells PEOPLE.

The former model, 48, and professional golfer, 50, have been dating for over a year. They are happy together and have a solid relationship, despite the pain Woods suffers from injuries that led him to sit out of the sport for a year, multiple sources tell PEOPLE.

“Vanessa and Tiger are in love,” an insider in Florida tells PEOPLE in the wake of Woods’ March 27 DUI arrest for a rollover crash near Jupiter Island, Fla., where he lives. “She is very supportive of his golf endeavors because despite his age and injuries, golf dominates Tiger’s life.”

“They are good together as they both have golf in their lives. That propels the romance in a certain sense,” the source adds. Beyond Woods’ career in golf, his son Charlie Axel, 17, plays the sport. Woods also shares daughter Sam Alexis, 18, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren.

Meanwhile, Trump’s daughters Kai, 18, and Chloe, 11, also play golf. Vanessa shares the two, along with sons Donald III, 17, Tristan, 14, Spencer, 13, with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr.

Woods — who underwent his seventh back surgery last fall and ruptured his Achilles tendon a year ago — can be “difficult to be around” sometimes because of the pain he experiences, the source says.

“She has her hands full sometimes, but Vanessa also has a life of her own and children to care for so she isn’t around it all the time,” the insider tells PEOPLE of the mom of five. “She is happy with him and any issues they have are not about her. It’s dealing with his frustrations about playing great golf and his pain that at some times is really confining.”

Woods returned to the green just three days before his DUI arrest, after last playing four full rounds of golf in April 2024 at The Masters. The same source adds that should Woods play in the tournament this year, “which is doubtful, Vanessa would support his decision.”

“She does all she can but some of it is out of her hands,” adds the insider.

Another source says that Vanessa fits into Woods’ world easily, particularly given their similar parenting lifestyles.

“Vanessa has settled right into their dating life due to the similarities in their current situations with kids, great weather out their door, golf in their lives, and school projects for their kids,” says the insider.

A different insider echoes this, but says that they think Woods needs to do some introspection.

“They are an intense couple,” the source says. “It’s serious but Tiger has yet to look in the mirror and say, ‘You’re 50 years old and need to act like it.’ ”

A rep for Woods did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. PEOPLE also attempted to reach Vanessa Trump.

Woods was involved in a rollover crash in Jupiter Island at around 2 p.m. on March 27, on South Beach Road, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said in a press conference. Woods was charged with DUI with property damage. He was uninjured and placed under arrest, then taken to the Martin County Jail, where he was released later the same day.

Budensiek also told reporters at the press conference that Woods appeared “lethargic” after the crash, which the sheriff said he “believe[s] was due to impairment.” He said Woods was not under the influence of alcohol, as he passed a Breathalyzer test, but refused to take a urinalysis that could test for drugs or medications.

The sheriff said authorities believe Woods was impaired by “medication or another substance.” No drugs or alcohol were found in his vehicle, Budensiek added.

Woods was previously charged with DUI in 2017 after being found by police asleep in his car in Jupiter Island. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving, ultimately receiving a fine and a one-year probation. Woods also entered a diversion program.

“I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved,” Woods said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE at the time. “What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”

On March 24, three days before Woods’ 2026 rollover crash and arrest, Vanessa was by the golf legend’s side as he returned to the sport at the TGL finals. Her daughter Kai was also there to cheer on the athlete.
