Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed in a press conference on Thursday that the blood drops found on Nancy Guthrie’s porch were traced back to her.
Nanos confirmed that no suspect had been identified in the investigation, but that no one had been ruled out.
The Daily Mail revealed how Nancy, 84, was abducted from her $1 million home late on January 31, early into February 1, according to police.
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday night that he has directed ‘all federal law enforcement’ to help with the investigation ‘IMMEDIATELY,’ and ‘the prayers of our Nation are with her and her family.’
Authorities have said they believe the mother of three is still alive despite not having identified any suspects.
‘We have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here,’ Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a new interview with NBC’s Liz Kreutz. ‘She’s present. She’s alive, and we want to save her.’
Still, Savannah and her siblings pleaded with their mother’s captors to provide proof of life as they fear she may not survive without vital medication she needs to take daily.

Savannah Guthrie’s sister Annie and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni look tense as they break cover in Arizona just hours after sharing missing mom Nancy’s last movements with FBI
Savannah Guthrie’s sister and brother-in-law looked tense as they were seen for the first time since the abduction of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
Annie Guthrie, 56, and her husband Tommaso Cioni, 50, covered their faces as they left their home in Tucson, Arizona, in a dark-colored Honda SUV at 5pm MT Tuesday.
Annie held a coral-colored hoodie over the top of her scalp to try and hide her face from photographers.
Cioni pulled his t-shirt up over his mouth and nose while wearing a pair of aviator sunglasses in a bid to avoid being photographed.
Doctors speak out after Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker stopped syncing with her Apple Watch… and raise grave ‘blood thinner’ concerns
It has been four days since Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy was abducted from her home in the middle of the night.
Police have said they still hope to find the 84-year-old alive, but fears are growing that time may be running out because of her underlying health issues. Nancy, who lived alone in the affluent Catalina Foothills in Arizona, was last seen at around 9.45pm on Saturday.
When she failed to show up at church on Sunday, her family reported her missing after finding droplets of blood dotting the foyer of her $1 million property.
And now, her medical vulnerabilities are coming into sharper focus. Authorities have not revealed the full extent of her health problems, but police have said that she is frail and has mobility issues that limit her ability to walk long distances.
Savannah Guthrie’s emotional plea
Savannah Guthrie fought back tears in a gut-wrenching video alongside her two siblings as the trio desperately appealed to their missing mother Nancy’s captors and begged for proof she is alive on Wednesday.
The Today Show anchor described her mother in glowing terms in the new clip shared on Instagram with her 1.3million followers as she pleaded for Nancy’s safe return.
‘Our mom is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light. She’s funny, spunky and clever. She has grandchildren that adore her and crowd around her and cover her with kisses,’ Guthrie said.
Guthrie graciously thanked everyone across the country who offered prayers and support before detailing her ‘beloved mom’ Nancy’s fragile state prior to her disappearance.
‘She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without medicine, she needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer,’ the mom of two added.
Guthrie – surrounded closely by her sister Annie and brother Camron – then directly addressed her mother’s possible captors, in the first public admission that she may be held for ransom.
‘We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can,’ Guthrie said in the clip.
Guthrie then said to the potential kidnappers that ‘we are ready to talk’ but wanted proof that they weren’t potentially using fraudulent images of her.
‘We live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us,’ she said through the tears.
FBI offering $50,000 reward
The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest of anyone involved in her disappearance.
One ransom note has 5pm deadline today, FBI says
FBI Special Agent Heith Janke said that one of the reported ransom notes has a deadline of 5pm local time today.
He added that the note had a second deadline for next Monday.
‘So we are continuing in a normal kidnapping case; there would be contact by now, trying to discuss that,’ Janke said.
‘But those are the time frames we’re looking at as we move forward.’
Top cardiologist shares distressing new theory about clues kidnapped Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker might yield
Data from Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker might mean she was involved in some kind of struggle with her potential captors just before she was kidnapped, a top cardiologist has theorized.
Savannah Guthrie’s Today show colleagues forced into humiliating apology for cruel ‘b****ing’ behind her back
Today show staff have been wracked with guilt for throwing host Savannah Guthrie under the bus while she was off-air having vocal cord surgery just weeks before her mother’s kidnapping, the Daily Mail can reveal.
The NBC star had reportedly been anxious to return to work after ratings went up during her absence, but has since dropped everything to support her family following Nancy Guthrie’s shock disappearance this weekend.
Eerie video retraces exact route Nancy Guthrie likely took as she was driven home
After spending the evening of January 31 playing Mahjong and having dinner with her daughter Annie, 56, missing Nancy, 84, was driven home by her Italian son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni.
At night, the drive would have been mostly in pitch darkness: Tucson’s Catalina Foothills suburb is sprawling and semi-rural with few streetlights to illuminate the way.
But in daylight, the scene at Annie’s home – where the journey began – is one of large homes set back off the road with sandy gardens punctuated by Saguaro cacti and prickly pears.
The start of the drive, re-traced by the Daily Mail, winds for half a mile down a quiet suburban street, before reaching a Circle K gas station and a Salvation Army thrift store at the bottom of the road, as well as a Mexican restaurant named Amelia’s.
Nancy Guthrie sheriff asked if Savannah’s brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni is a suspect
The sheriff leading the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance was asked directly on Thursday whether her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, is being treated as a suspect.
What are Nancy Guthrie’s medical conditions?
911 dispatch audio detailed Nancy’s health conditions, which have made the search to find her even more urgent.
‘Nancy, a white female, 84 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches, medium build, brown [hair] over blue [eyes],’ the dispatcher said.
‘Nancy has high blood pressure, pacemaker and cardiac issues.’
Investigators have said it is imperative that Nancy is found soon because she could die without her medication.
Guthrie takes certain medications, and the police are in touch with pharmacies in the area to check prescription logs.
Deputies have also been continuously checking in at every local hospital ‘physically in person’ throughout the investigation.
Police have also stressed that Nancy has limited mobility and cannot walk far on her own.
