CHAOTIC & ALARMING LIVE — A major scandal has just erupted in the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie: the Pima County Sheriff’s Office is being openly accused of blocking FBI access to vital physical evidence — potentially sabotaging the entire investigation!

The frantic search for Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie, has stretched into a thirteenth day.

Investigators were seen erecting a tent outside the crime scene on Thursday morning as Savannah Guthrie posted a heartbreaking video for her missing mom.

Guthrie’s neighbors have been asked to hand over personal security footage while Arizona authorities have been flooded with nearly 20,000 tips related to the 84-year-old’s disappearance.

A chilling new ransom note regarding Nancy Guthrie was sent to TMZ Thursday morning, with the writer complaining that they are “not being taken seriously” — as Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is accused of blocking the FBI from access to key physical evidence.

Nancy was last seen at her Tucson, Ariz., home on Jan. 31, when she was dropped off by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, after she had dinner with him and her daughter, Annie.

Pima County Sheriff accused of blocking FBI from access to key physical evidence: report

By Zoe Hussain

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, who is leading Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping case, is reportedly blocking the FBI from accessing key evidence, a law enforcement source told Fox News Digital.

“The FBI asked Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos for physical evidence in the case, including a glove and DNA from the home of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, to be processed at the FBI’s national crime laboratory in Quantico, Virginia, but Nanos has insisted instead on using a private lab in Florida,” the unnamed official told the outlet.

FBI releases description of Nancy Guthrie kidnapping suspect — and offers $100K for info leading to break in the case

By Zoe Hussain

The FBI has released new details about the identity of the suspect who kidnapped Nancy Guthrie — and has doubled the initial cash reward for information leading to a break in the case.

“Today, the FBI is increasing its reward up to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance,” the FBI’s Phoenix office posted on X.

Forensic analysis of doorbell camera footage at the 84-year-old’s Tucson, Ariz., home has revealed several identifying factors about the masked, armed abductor who was seen on her doorstep, officials announced.

Nancy’s alleged kidnapper is a male, approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with an average build, the FBI Phoenix office said. He was also wearing a black, 25-liter “Ozark Trail Hiker Pack” backpack in the doorbell video, authorities added.

“We hope this updated description will help concentrate the public tips we are receiving. Since February 1, 2026, the FBI has collected over 13,000 tips from the public related to this case,” the FBI said in the statement.

FBI wants to talk to man seen on video with backpack near Nancy Guthrie’s home on night she vanished

By Zoe Hussain

Authorities are looking to question a man seen carrying a backpack in newly surfaced surveillance footage near Nancy Guthrie’s Catalina Foothills home on the night she vanished, according to reports.

The clip, obtained by TMZ, showed a man wearing a backpack and hoisting another one above a brick wall around 1:53 a.m, before a masked, armed man arrived at the home of the 84-year-old mother of “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie.

The surveillance footage of the man with the backpacks was captured roughly five miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home, according to the outlet.

The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office are reviewing the video because the man appears to be dressed similarly to the alleged kidnapper captured in separate doorbell camera footage at Guthrie’s home, a source close to the investigation told Fox News Digital.

Authorities have not yet determined if the man is in any way related to the Guthrie case.

Chilling new ransom note has warning for Nancy Guthrie’s family

A chilling new ransom note regarding Nancy Guthrie has been sent to TMZ, with the writer complaining that they are “not being taken seriously.”

The note, received at 11 a.m. ET Thursday, is said to have been sent by the same person who sent another letter Wednesday demanding one bitcoin in return for information about her disappearance, TMZ reported.

The unidentified author demands the bitcoin, worth around $65,000, so that they can lie low amid fears of retaliation, the outlet reported.

The author also expressed fears he might be “incriminated like that Carlos guy,” referencing Carlos Palazuelos, a FedEx delivery driver who was detained and later released without charge Tuesday in connection with Nancy’s disappearance.

Key giveaways in Nancy Guthrie case that show suspected kidnapper is not ‘a trained assassin’: former FBI special agent

By Emily Crane

The masked thug suspected of abducting Nancy Guthrie made amateurish moves that prove he was likely not a “trained assassin,” a former FBI bigwig said — as he predicted a black glove discovered near the 84-year-old’s home could be a “margin of victory” for investigators.

Retired FBI supervisory special agent James Gagliano said the way the suspect was carrying a holstered gun when he was caught on surveillance video approaching Guthrie’s home was unlike anything he’d seen before.
