Under FA rules, a player can be sent off for using “offensive, insulting or abusive language”.
United great Wayne Rooney was hit with a two-match ban by the FA for shouting, “What? F*****g what?” at a camera lens after he put United 3-2 up at West Ham in April 2011.
Rooney was charged by the FA for the use of offensive, insulting and/or abusive language.
The United star missed the 2-0 Premier League win against Fulham and FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City.

Sir Alex Ferguson then blanked FA chairman Andy Bernstein after he attempted to shake his hand following the Champions League final at Wembley at the end of that season.
Cunha, 26, came off the bench to have a major impact at the Emirates Stadium eight days on from assisting Patrick Dorgu’s clincher in the Manchester derby.
United head coach Michael Carrick was not asked about Cunha’s celebration but praised his professionalism after starting on the bench for the second week running.
Carrick said: “It kind of epitomises probably as a group what we’ve been like this week.

“Matheus has not started both games, but he’s had a real big impact and he’s been disappointed not to start.
“But he’s used it in a really good way. Two huge moments and he totally deserves that winning goal for how he’s applied himself all week. I’m absolutely delighted for him.

Carrick remains unbeaten as United head coach across his two stints and secured a second 3-2 victory against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal four years on from the first.
United have risen to fourth and their fans chanted ‘We’re gonna win the league’ at full-time against Arsenal.
Carrick, 44, is under contract for the rest of the season but was non-committal on the prospect of staying on as permanent head coach.
He added: “I’m enjoying it. It’s a fantastic position to be in.

“What happens next I’m not going to be answering it every week. I’m enjoying it and I’ll continue to do what I can.
“We’re not getting carried away. We’ve got really important games coming up that we need to kind of keep improving with.
“There’s a lot of emotion and a lot of energy and a lot of confidence that you can take from that, but be humble and understand how we’ve got these resources.
“Those are really important moving forward.”
