Cops investigating Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance emerged from her daughter Annie’s Arizona home on Saturday night holding troves of brown bags.
The contents of the bags were unknown as authorities prepare to enter day eight of their search. Annie Guthrie’s husband Tommaso Cioni was the last person to see Nancy before her kidnapping.
Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother was abducted from her $1million Tucson home in the early hours of February 1, with officials confirming they have not identified any suspects in the ongoing case.
This comes after KGUN 9 reported that a ransom note threatens Nancy’s life if her loved ones do not hand over $6 million in Bitcoin by Monday at 5 pm local time.
Police believe that Nancy is alive, as Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told reporters on Friday night: ‘What I believe is that Nancy was removed from her home against her will, and that we need to find her. That’s what I believe. She’s still alive.’
Cops have cordoned off the home while the investigation intensifies, with recent footage showing officers using a pole to probe a manhole located behind the property.

Evidence in Nancy Guthrie septic tank: REAL reason cops searched manhole at her home… and truth about mystery silver briefcase at daughter Annie’s house
As the hunt for missing Nancy Guthrie approaches its second week, investigators were seen searching a septic tank at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday.
Footage captured law enforcement using a pole to check inside a manhole behind Nancy’s $1million house, amid mounting fears that time is running out to find the 84-year-old mother of Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie alive and well.
Former SWAT team captain Josh Schirard told the Daily Mail: ‘A lot of people forget that having a septic tank means waste water doesn’t go into a city sewer, it goes into the tank.
‘So, somebody may have flushed something thinking that would get rid of it, but instead it would actually just be deposited in the septic tank. It is a possibility that [investigators] are now trying to make sure that there’s nothing in there that could indicate any kind of guilt.’
Police seen leaving Annie Guthrie’s home carrying brown bags
Police were spotted wearing blue gloves and carrying brown bags as they exited Nancy Guthrie’s daughter Annie’s home on Saturday night, amid the ongoing search for the missing 84-year-old.
Authorities reportedly spent at least three hours inside the Tucson residence before leaving the property, according to the New York Post.
That same evening, camera flashes were seen repeatedly at Annie and her husband Tommaso Cioni’s residence.
Cioni was the last person to see Nancy before her disappearance after he dropped her home on the evening of January 31
The investigation is now entering day eight, with officials yet to confirm any suspects.

Ransom deadline has added urgency to search for Nancy Guthrie, former SWAT captain says
A former SWAT captain has speculated that investigators are amplifying their efforts to find Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy as the deadline set by an apparent ransom note nears.
Josh Schirard told CNN that the letter from the 84-year-old’s alleged kidnappers demanding $6 million by Monday at 5 pm local time has likely pushed investigators to ramp up their search.
‘If this is real, they’re on the clock, and that clock is ticking short, so anything that they can do has to be done and has to be done now,’ he told the outlet.
Nancy’s home has been an active scene for detectives on Sunday. They have spent hours searching the area surrounding the $1 million residence.
Authorities have reportedly checked inside a septic tank and probed the wooded area behind the home.
Cops unable to recover Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell footage
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos admitted that they were unable to recover any evidence in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance from the 84-year-old’s doorbell camera.
Investigators have found that the home’s doorbell camera was disconnected early Sunday – the day the daughter of ‘Today’ show star Savannah Guthrie – and that software data recorded movement at the home minutes later.
But Nancy Guthrie did not have an active subscription, so none of the footage was able to be recovered.
‘It is concerning, it’s actually almost disappointing because you’ve got your hopes up,’ Nanos said.
‘OK, they got an image. ‘Well, we do, but we don’t.’

Investigation faces fresh flood of fury after police admit they still don’t have any leads
Frustration is mounting about the investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance after the Pima County Sheriff’s Office admitted they still had no idea who kidnapped her.
‘The Nancy Guthrie investigation is ongoing,’ the office wrote on X.
‘Follow-up continues at multiple locations. No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified. No scheduled press briefings.
‘If any significant developments occur in the case, a press conference will be called.’
‘This “investigation” is a joke,’ one X user wrote in response to the statement. ‘If we can’t solve a crime like this within days why have any hope in LE (law enforcement)’.
Another person described the statement as ‘lots of words for “we know absolutely nothing”‘, while a third quipped: ‘You really know how to instill confidence’.
No suspects identified 7 days into Nancy Guthrie investigation
The Pima County Sheriff’s office provided an update on Nancy Guthrie’s investigation on Sunday afternoon, confirming that authorities had no suspects in the case.
‘No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified,’ the department wrote.
