Maria was picked up by staff at the popular attraction in Limeira, Sao Paolo, and flung over the edge on Saturday morning.

Carried in a superman pose by two workers, she didn’t realise a safety rope had not been attached to her harness before they threw her off the edge.

Seconds after the workers released her into the air, voices can be heard in the background of the video shouting: “the rope, people, the rope”.

Maria – from nearby Jandira – fell more than 131ft to the ground as the horrified staff watched on unable to help.

Just hours before the tragic ordeal, she had excitedly posted about the upcoming jump to her social media.

In a series of stories, Maria revealed the location of the thrill-seeking activity, as well as showing her identification bracelets for the jump.

She also took pictures of the company representatives who would later be responsible for her jumping off the ledge without being attached to the safety equipment.

And in one chilling detail alongside a photo of the company banner “Entre Cordas”, she had written: “Who was the crazy person who let me jump off a bridge?”.

The staff in the images and video appear to be wearing t-shirts from the companies Entre Cordas and Ih Voei .

Firefighters and paramedics were called but she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the harrowing ordeal, witnesses said the employees had forgotten to connect the safety equipment to Maria prior to her jump, according to Military Police.

Six people were arrested at the scene of the tragic accident at the Ponte do Esqueleto trail.

The company was charging £26.50 (R$180) for people to jump from the bridge and had five other dates advertised for the coming months.

Following Maria’s tragic death, the company still had future dates advertised on their website for the fatal location.

Adrenaline chasers were still able to book in for future events at Ponte do Esqueleto for July 11.
