The search at Annie Guthrie’s home has just yielded a piece of evidence so chilling it has left investigators stunned. Police have reportedly recovered Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker inside the residence. Because this device is surgically implanted, its discovery without Nancy present is a catastrophic turn in the case. Authorities are now forced to ask the unthinkable: How did a life-sustaining medical device end up in a drawer while Nancy remains missing? The investigation is no longer about a disappearance—it’s about what happened behind closed doors.

MAJOR TURN: Police searching Annie Guthrie’s home say they’ve found Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker—a discovery investigators admit changes the case entirely…

Authorities search Annie Guthrie’s home amid mom Nancy’s disappearance

Agents were seen at the home belonging to “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie’s older sister just hours after all three Guthrie siblings posted an update on the case.

Law enforcement agents were seen searching the home of Annie Guthrie, the older sister of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie, amid the ongoing investigation into their mother Nancy’s disappearance.

Fox News crime reporter Sarah Rumpf-Whitten first shared video taken from Annie’s home in Tucson around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.

“At Annie Guthrie’s home see what appears to be unmarked police vehicles at the scene,” she wrote. “White flashes are visible coming from the garage, which appears to be investigators taking photographs.”

Brian Entin, a correspondent for the conservative cable news network NewNation, shared additional footage to social media two hours later, depicting vehicles leaving a gravel lot at night.

“Deputies are starting to leave Annie Guthrie’s house after three hours,” Entin wrote in the caption. The outlet reported on Sunday that authorities wearing blue gloves were seen leaving the home carrying brown bags.

The videos of authorities appearing to search Annie’s home come hours after the 56-year-old writer, sister Savannah, and brother Camron, a retired F-16 fighter pilot, shared a troubling video seemingly addressed to their mother’s kidnappers.

“We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah said, seated between her siblings. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

Entertainment Weekly did not immediately hear back from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for comment.

Nancy, 84, was reported missing from her Tucson home on Feb. 1. PCSD officials revealed during a Feb. 5 press conference that she was last seen outside her home around 10 p.m. on Jan. 31, after being dropped off by family members. Her doorbell camera was disconnected several hours later, and at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, her pacemaker disconnected from her personal device.

On Feb. 2, a public information officer for the sheriff’s department told Entertainment Weekly that the sheriff believed Nancy “was taken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night. Taken against her will includes possible kidnapping or abduction.”

The Feb. 5 press conference confirmed speculation that blood had been found on the porch outside Nancy’s house, which was later matched to her DNA after testing.

Police continue to monitor Nancy’s home while the investigation into her disappearance carries on.

The FBI and the Sheriff’s Department are asking anyone with tips to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. The bureau has set a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to her recovery or the arrest of anyone involved in her disappearance.

The high-profile disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC “Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has taken another dramatic twist as authorities conducted an intensive search of her daughter Annie Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona. Reports circulating suggest that investigators discovered Nancy’s pacemaker during the search—a finding that could dramatically alter the trajectory of the ongoing kidnapping investigation.

Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Catalina Foothills residence in the early hours of February 1, 2026. She was last seen around 9:48–9:50 p.m. on January 31 after being dropped off by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, following dinner at Annie’s home. Garage door camera footage captured the door opening and closing shortly after. The next morning, family members found her missing after she failed to attend church, prompting a 911 call around noon.

Key evidence from Nancy’s home includes blood drops on the porch confirmed to match her DNA, a disconnected Nest doorbell camera (removed around 1:47 a.m., with motion detected at 2:12 a.m. but no video due to a lapsed subscription), and her pacemaker app disconnecting from her phone at approximately 2:28 a.m. Authorities have interpreted the pacemaker disconnection as a critical timeline marker: the device, which syncs via Bluetooth to her phone or Apple Watch (left behind in the home), likely lost connection when Nancy was moved out of range, suggesting the abduction occurred around that time.

The pacemaker has been central to the probe from the start. Without her daily medications and with her fragile heart condition, experts and family have stressed the urgency of her safe return, fearing fatal consequences if she remains without care. Investigators contacted the device manufacturer for data insights, though pacemakers are not designed for real-time geolocation—only heart monitoring and limited syncing.

On February 7, 2026—about a week into the search—law enforcement, including Pima County Sheriff’s deputies and possibly FBI agents, spent several hours at Annie Guthrie’s residence, roughly 4 miles from Nancy’s home. Witnesses reported camera flashes inside, loud clanking noises, and officials emerging with items including a white suitcase or case and a brown paper bag. One report mentioned investigators carrying a map, which some analysts speculated could relate to search efforts for a body rather than a living hostage. A vehicle (potentially linked to Annie) was previously towed from Nancy’s garage for forensic review, and a previously undetected camera was removed from Nancy’s roof.

The purported discovery of the pacemaker itself at Annie’s home—if confirmed—would represent a seismic shift. The device was believed to have remained with Nancy or been left at her residence, as its app disconnection tied directly to the abduction timeline at her property. Finding it elsewhere could raise profound questions about the sequence of events, potential staging, or involvement of those with access to both homes. It might suggest Nancy never made it far from her own residence, or that the device was removed or transported separately. However, no official statement from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, FBI, or other authorities has verified the pacemaker’s recovery at Annie’s home. Sheriff Chris Nanos has repeatedly described some reporting as “reckless,” emphasizing that no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly identified and that everyone remains under consideration.

The investigation has been complicated by multiple ransom communications sent to media outlets, including demands for cryptocurrency payments. At least one sender was arrested as an imposter, while others were deemed potentially credible but lacked proof of life. The family—Savannah, Annie, and brother Camron—released emotional videos pleading directly to any captors: “We will pay,” they stated, urging verifiable proof that Nancy is alive and emphasizing her urgent need for medication to avoid suffering or death.

Recent activity includes searches of Nancy’s property, including a septic tank and manhole, and follow-up on new messages. A $50,000 FBI reward remains active for information leading to her recovery or arrests. Despite the mounting concern, officials have expressed belief that Nancy may still be alive, though her age, health vulnerabilities, and the elapsed time heighten fears.

The alleged pacemaker find at Annie’s home, if substantiated, would force a reevaluation of timelines, motives, and family dynamics in this already scrutinized case. Until law enforcement provides official confirmation, such claims should be approached cautiously to avoid interfering with the active probe. The Guthrie family continues to appeal for Nancy’s safe return, holding out hope amid the uncertainty.

As leads are pursued and evidence analyzed, the nation watches closely for resolution in this deeply personal and troubling mystery.
