A massive search is underway in southern Arizona for Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman whose disappearance has triggered growing alarm after police entered her Tucson-area home and reported a scene that caused “grave concern.”

Authorities confirmed that Guthrie was last seen on the night of January 31 at approximately 9:30 p.m. at her residence near Skyline Drive and Campbell Avenue, on the outskirts of Tucson. When she could not be reached the following day, she was officially reported missing on February 1.

When officers arrived at the home to conduct a welfare check, they encountered conditions inside the residence that immediately raised serious concerns, according to law enforcement officials.
