According to a former FBI agent, Bryan Kohberger brutally attacked Kaylee Goncalves after she unintentionally disrupted what he allegedly intended to be a sexual assault against another victim, Maddie Mogen.

TMZ spoke with retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer, who has closely followed the Kohberger case and frequently serves as a media analyst. She has now shared with TMZ her disturbing theory regarding Kohberger’s motive on the night of the murders.
Coffindaffer claims Kohberger broke into the Moscow, Idaho home in November 2022 with the intention of assaulting Mogen in her third-floor bedroom. However, she says his plan unraveled when he entered the room and discovered that Mogen was not alone — Goncalves, her roommate, was sleeping beside her.
According to Coffindaffer, Mogen was Kohberger’s primary target, evidenced by the fact that he went directly to her room. Seeing Goncalves there allegedly enraged him, as her presence prevented him from carrying out his intended assault.
Coffindaffer believes Kohberger redirected his anger toward Goncalves, attacking her with extreme violence and leaving her face severely mutilated, based on details from the autopsy report. She also states that Mogen was killed shortly afterward, followed by the murders of Xana Kernodle and her boyfriend, Ethan Chapin.
“Kaylee disrupted how he envisioned the night unfolding,” Coffindaffer said. “That’s why her injuries were so extreme.”
Truly terrifying.
