We want to share a separate and important update regarding Zoey the dog, as many people continue to ask what happened to Chris Palmer’s beloved dog.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, this reflects what Chris’s loved ones believe happened, based on the information they have.

Zoey was an 11-year-old German shepherd who had been by Chris’s side since she was a puppy. She was deeply loved and was an important part of his life. In her later years, Zoey was very ill, required multiple medications, and suffered from severe hip dysplasia. Chris was devoted to her care.



Chris’s father has shared that the family believes Chris spent time in the woods with Zoey during what they believe were her final days, giving her comfort and companionship. After Zoey’s passing, the family believes Chris laid her to rest with love before continuing on to the coast. This reflects the family’s understanding and has not been officially confirmed.

Zoey was loved.
Chris loved her.

“This will be the only time I comment on Christopher’s beloved Zoey. This is for those who did not know him or us and for those who have been speculating.

Zoey was a beautiful, well-behaved 11-year-old German shepherd whom he loved dearly. She had been by his side since she was a puppy. Zoey was very sick, required several medications, and also suffered from severe hip dysplasia.

It is our belief that our son spent time in the woods with her during her final days. Evidence of this includes a shovel that was found in his truck. After her passing, he laid her to rest and then continued his trip to the coast.

We thank everyone for their concern and prayers for Zoey.”
