BEHIND BARS: PRISON SCANDAL ROCKS UK JAIL

A PRISON officer has been jailed for having a four-minute romp with an inmate in a jail prayer room and sending love letters laced with drugs.

She left the prayer room four minutes later with the inmate and appeared to “readjust her belt area”.

Dale later received a message from Sharif, saying: “It was good sharing dat love today ur p*s ammaazzzeeeingggggg”.

Following her arrest, police discovered text messages that showed a sexual relationship with “at least” one other inmate at the prison called Connor Money.

He was serving nine years for killing his best friend in a car crash while escaping police in a 147mph motorway chase.

Dale was today jailed for three-and-a-half years after she was found guilty of two counts of misconduct in a public office and conspiracy to convey a ‘List A’ prohibited article into prison.

Southwark Crown Court heard Dale became besotted by Sharif, who was serving a 12-year sentence for robbery.

She bought herself a £3,000 engagement ring and a framed canvas of the pair hanging over her bed.

Dale had written love letters addressed to her “sneaky” – a reference to Sharif’s nickname – which were discovered in his cell at HMP Coldingley.

Some of these had been laced with synthetic cannabis or “Spice”.

She also “Sneaks” tattooed on the back of her neck and and called herself “Miss Sneaky”.

The prison officer wrote: “I literally worship the ground you walk on, you are my best friend, my motivation, the reason I keep fighting.”

Dale also said his music was “phenomenal” and praised his ability to “create all those bars in such a short period of time”.

She continued: “You are so talented and I am honoured to be the girl that gets to stand by your side.”

Dale added: “I would take a bullet for you without a doubt.

“I will remain right next to you in all that you do, whether it’s through good or bad, I am right next to you.

“I will do anything I can to help you and that’s because the love runs deep.”

After their fling was rumbled, Sharif was transferred to HMP Swaleside on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent.

But Dale continued to visit him on three separate occasions between September and November 2022.

On one occasion, CCTV showed her “embracing and kissing” Sharif.

Dale also sent flirty images via the “email a prisoner system” and transferred £100 across two payments while working as a prison officer.

Sharif got Dale to help him smuggle envelopes “laced with spice” into his new prison.

The prison officer also operated Sharif’s drug-dealing Snapchat account and sourced synthetic cannabis from an associate of his called Lilea Sallis.

Sallis then allegedly plotted to smuggle spice into the prison for Sharif.

Dale was arrested while visiting Sharif at HMP Swaleside on November 1, 2022.

Arresting officer PC Sophie Shilling wrote in her witness statement that Dale “was pretty certain her boyfriend (Sharif) was going to propose to her during their prison visit that day”.

Police then discovered drug-smuggling paraphernalia in the boot of her car and a “quantity” of love letters and “provocative photographs” sent by Dale in Sharif’s cell.

They also found evidence that Dale had also been messaging inmate Money.

On one occasion, she referred to watching a documentary on Belmarsh about prisoners grooming staff and sent a laughing emoji.

Dale also told Money: “You maybe just wanting to use me because I’m an officer but I don’t think your like that xx”.

He also sent her an explicit message, to which she replied: “When you know you want me and only me lol xx”.

The court heard there is further evidence on Dale’s phone that showed she communicated with two other prisoners.

Dale, of Portsmouth, denied two counts of misconduct in a public office and conspiracy to convey a ‘List A’ prohibited article into prison.
