Boy, 17, beaten to death by gang after being lured to building site had reported previous attacks to police, dad says

A TEENAGE boy who was savagely beaten to death by five thugs had reported previous attacks, his heartbroken dad has revealed.
Louis, 17, was lured to a building site in Narbonne,Ā France, and kicked, punched and stomped into unconsciousness by the gang.

The boyās father, Nicolas HervĆ©, shared that he had sought refuge at a police station and reported acts of group violence just a week before his death.
He told BFMTV: āHe didnāt want to, for fear of reprisals.ā
The distraught dad said he cannot understand why his son was the victim of such a barbaric ambush.
He said: āMy son was truly a good boy. I donāt understand why so much hatred. I miss him so much, itās terrible.ā

Shortly after Louisā fatal beating on June 20, harrowing footage emerged on social media showing the young man on the ground with blood pouring from his face.
He was rushed to hospital and placed in a coma where doctors spent five days doing all they could to improve his condition.

Louis was tragically declared dead on Tuesday, June 23.
His five suspected killers, aged between 16 and 19, were arrested and have been identified by their first names and the first initial of their surnames.
They are Isaac P, 18, Mathias T, 17,Ā JordanĀ S, 16, Lucas P, 17, and Kilian T, 19.
PoliceĀ managed to quickly track them all down due to the footage shared of the alleged attack which showed many of their faces.
It is believed that multiple members of the gang shared the video to their own personal accounts.
Louis was said to have had aĀ historyĀ with the gang which hasnāt been revealed.
An investigating source toldĀ The Sun: āLouis had aĀ historyĀ with the gang, who frequently attacked him.
āAll were local boys, and well known to the police for delinquency and other problems.

āLouis knew them too, mainly through child welfareĀ homes, and programmes run by the authorities.
āLast Friday, the gang lured Louis to a building site in Narbonne, and a barbaric beating to death followed.ā
All French nationals detained have been remanded in custody, where they are being questioned at length.
They are likely to be kept in jail pending a murder trial later this year, a local police source added.
Jean-Philippe Rey, the Narbonne prosecutor, said: āThe evidence gathered suggests that these extremely serious acts were premeditated and that the suspects had set a trap for the victim, luring him to a construction site to beat him to death.ā
Rey added that the victim suffered āmultiple bruises on his face as well as various instances of bleeding from the mouth and noseā.
NewsĀ of Louisā murder quickly spread acrossĀ FranceĀ and caused outrage among the public and top officials.
BrunoĀ Retauilleau, Franceās former Interior Minister, said: āLouis was 17 years old. He was lured into an ambush, savagely beaten, and left for dead.
āThis outpouring of violence is unbearable, nauseating.
āI first think of his loved ones who will have to live with this immense grief. Once again, several of those charged are minors.
āWe can no longer pretend that this barbarization is just a string of isolated incidents.ā
His powerful statement concluded: āThe French people demand that things change ā I want to give them back their voice through a referendum to toughen our criminal justice system.ā
A spokesman for Narbonne social services said Louis had āfamily difficultiesā and was in the care of Franceās Child Social Welfare service.
Because of his age, he was allowed a lot of freedom, and not supervised around the clock, said the spokesman.
Nicolas revealed that he had been placed in foster care to āmanage his emotionsā.
