“She went to protest and never came home: family of 23-year-old fashion student speaks out”

AN Iranian student was reportedly shot in the back of the head at a protest in Tehran – before her family were forced to search through hundreds of bodies to identify her.

Textiles student Rubina Aminian, 23, joined protests against the Iranian regime after a day of classes at Tehran’s Shariati College.

Her social media videos show the young Kurdish woman trying on jewellery and lipstick and blowing kisses to the camera.

The Iran Human Rights group said she was shot at close range in the back of the head.

Her parents travelled from their home in Kermanshah to Tehran to identify her body laid out alongside other young victims, the group said.

They were forced to bury her by the side of a deserted road in a shallow grave after Iran’s security forces reportedly surrounded the family home.
