PART 2: THE TWO MAD WOMEN AT THE JUNCTION 😱
I never imagined that walking to work could turn into the most bizarre morning of my life.
Every day, I took the same route with Stella, my girlfriend. That morning, she had stayed over, and we were rushing out, coffee in hand, ready to catch a cab. We reached the junction, and out of nowhere, chaos ran toward us.
Two women were sprinting at full speed. Kneeling, shouting, waving rings. — “Please, Michael! Marry us! Both of us! If not, you’ll become mad!”
I froze. Did they mean me? I glanced at Stella, expecting a reaction, but she was frowning at the time. — “Babe, we’re late!” she hissed, unaware of the spectacle behind me.
Before I could process, one of them yanked my arm. I staggered but quickly recovered. They weren’t old, as I had assumed—they looked young, late twenties, strikingly similar, maybe sisters. One fair, one chocolate-skinned, both in tattered clothes and barefoot, dirty as if they’d been living on the streets.
— “Fine boy, we’ve been calling you for ages! Why are you pretending not to hear us?” the fair one said, eyes locked on mine. — “Or is it because you’re with your girlfriend?” the darker one added.
Goosebumps crawled across my arms. Stella noticed my hesitation and began walking back toward me, her tone sharp. — “Babe, what are you doing? We’re late!” she yelled, confused and frustrated.
I tried to signal her, but her attention was elsewhere. Meanwhile, the two women knelt on the ground, pulling out rings, their voices chanting in unison: — “Marry us! Both of us! We’re running out of time! If you don’t, you’ll become mad like us!”
Cold shivers ran down my spine. I scanned the junction—no one else was looking. Everyone else was oblivious, walking past, immersed in their morning routines.
Stella screamed again, snapping me from my shock. — “Look at my watch! We’re late!”
It hit me. Only I could see the two women.
Panic mixed with confusion. Were they ghosts? Hallucinations? Or something more sinister?
Stella grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the cab, trying to drag me away, but the chanting continued. The rings glinted in the morning sun. I could feel a strange energy, almost magnetic, pulling me toward them.
— “You must marry us!” they chorused, louder now, voices layered with urgency and desperation.
My heart pounded. What did they want from me? Why me? And why did I feel an inexplicable fear that refusing them might have consequences far worse than embarrassment?
People passing by started to glance at us, sensing my tension, but none could see them. My mind raced. Could it be that my presence, my life, had some unseen connection to these women? Were they bound to me somehow?
Stella’s grip tightened. — “Michael! Come on! Stop standing there!” she demanded, unaware of the invisible storm at my side.
One of the women stretched out her hand, palm glowing faintly, and I felt a pulse of heat surge through me. My knees weakened. The voice in unison boomed again: — “Marry us, or face the madness!”
I couldn’t respond. My lips wouldn’t move. All I could do was stare, trapped between the ordinary world and this other, unexplainable realm.
Then, just as abruptly as it began, the energy lifted. The women vanished in a swirl of dust, leaving only the rings on the ground where they had knelt. My pulse raced, sweat dripping down my temple. I looked at Stella, who frowned at the rings on the ground. — “What is this?” she asked, confusion and suspicion battling in her eyes.
I knelt down, trembling, picking up the rings. They were heavy, cold, and unlike anything I had ever seen. Symbols etched into the metal shimmered faintly, almost alive. I felt a whisper in my mind: “The choice is yours. Time is running out.”
I froze, realizing this was only the beginning.
Who were those women? Why could I see them? And what did they mean when they said I would go mad if I refused? My life had suddenly shifted from ordinary to something beyond comprehension.
The cab honked behind us. Stella tugged my arm again. — “Michael! Are you coming or not?”
I nodded, slipping the rings into my pocket, eyes darting around, half-expecting them to return. Stella glanced at me oddly, unaware of the invisible danger that had just passed. I forced a smile.
But deep down, I knew one thing: the junction, the rings, the chanting… this wasn’t over. Something had marked me that morning, and the full story was only beginning.
The next chapter would reveal the secrets behind the two mad women, the rings, and the chilling warning that had followed me through the streets that morning. And I feared it would not be easy to survive.
