Authorities in Missouri have arrested four young adults after the body of a missing teenager was found in the woods a week after she disappeared.
Kayla Huff, 16, was reported missing by her family on May 6, the sheriff’s office in Randolph County, Mo. noted in a probable cause statement obtained by PEOPLE.
Her body was found this week, the sheriff’s office said in aΒ press releaseΒ on Thursday, May 14.
The release did not indicate the date or location of the discovery; however,Β 13 KRCGΒ reported, citing authorities, that Kayla’s remains were found in a wooded part of a local conservation area by a civilian on Wednesday, May 13.
Authorities have since arrested Julian Mason, 26, Christopher Hull, 23, Alayna Mason, 20, and Hunter Ames, 19, in connection with her kidnapping. No one has been charged directly in connection with Kayla’s death.

According to probable cause statements for the four suspects obtained by PEOPLE, the investigation revealed Alayna Mason allegedly told several people she, alongside another individual, had put Kayla in the trunk of a vehicle and transported her to the Rudolf Bennitt Conservation area, where she dragged and assaulted Kayla and shot her.
Individuals familiar with Alayna alleged to police she put motor oil in the tank of Kayla’s vehicle on May 5, the day before the teenager was reported missing. Hull allegedly told police he accompanied Alayna to the residence and helped her with the motor oil filling.
Ames allegedly admitted to police he helped kidnap Kayla on May 6, and that he gave Alayna a pistol when she allegedly told him she needed to “take care of” the victim who she’d put in the trunk of a car, per the statements.
Ames and Hull both admitted to discarding the baton suspected to have been used for assaulting Kayla, the statements alleged.
In another probable cause statement, Julian is accused of participating in the discarding of the baton as well. He is also accused of driving to the victim’s house alongside two other suspects.
Authorities alleged they recovered the baton from Hull’s residence during the investigation.
