Crans-Montana Fire Tragedy: 24-Year-Old Waitress Dies Trapped by Locked Emergency Exit — Family Asks, “How Many Lives Were Lost Because of This?”
Cyane was just 24 years old. She worked as a waitress at the upscale Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana — and she is now one of the victims of the devastating New Year’s Eve fire. Days after the disaster, her family’s grief has turned into shock, anger, and unanswered questions.

According to investigators, Cyane managed to reach an emergency exit while trying to escape the flames. She was so close to safety. But the door — meant to save lives — was locked.
Her body was later found right in front of that blocked exit.
“This is unimaginable,” Cyane’s mother said through tears. “How can a security door be locked in a place like this — an exclusive venue where tables cost thousands of euros?” The family insists that Cyane knew the bar well and would have escaped quickly if the exit had been accessible. They believe she could have survived — and possibly helped others — if that single door had been open.
Her aunt echoed the outrage, calling the incident an unforgivable human error. “In a wealthy resort like Crans-Montana, with every resource available, this should never have happened,” she said. “How many victims paid the price for this mistake?”
The family describes Cyane as their “ray of sunshine.” Her sister speaks of an emptiness that will never be filled. Her father, exhausted by grief, says his only focus now is to give his daughter a dignified farewell — while investigators continue to uncover disturbing failures behind the scenes.
