Celeste Rivas’ father responds to D4vd arrest in connection to his daughter’s disturbing murder
Celeste Rivas’ father thanked God after singer D4vd was arrested in connection to his daughter’s heinous murder.
“Thank God … justice for Celeste,” her father said in a statement provided by the slain California teen’s family’s attorney Friday after learning of the singer’s arrest.
The statement went on to say that the family was “committed to ensuring that Celeste’s voice is heard.”
D4vd, 21, whose real name is David Burke, was taken into custody Thursday by the LAPD’s robbery-homicide division and is being held without bail. He is expected to be charged Monday.

Cops swarmed the creepy crooner’s Hollywood Hills home to make the arrest the moment they had “probable cause,” police sources told The Post.
“We did the best we can to keep tabs on him, but once we developed probable cause to arrest him for murder, then we were on him pretty diligently,” LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division Commanding Officer Captain Scot M. Williams told The Post.
The 14-year-old girl’s dismembered corpse was discovered in a Tesla belonging to the singer in September after tow yard employees detected a foul odor.
Her body parts were savagely spread out in two different cadaver bags found inside the vehicle, with her head and torso being stored in one bag and other body parts in the other.
Insects were found swarming over her remains, according to documents unsealed in a Texas court.
She had previously been reported missing by her family in April.
D4vd canceled his tour dates and has kept a low profile since the teen girl’s remains were discovered.
A grand jury investigation was opened against D4vd in February, but the singer has not yet been indicted.
Police sources told The Post they were under immense pressure to move quickly in the case.
“There was a lot of outside pressure for [investigators] to act quickly, they were able to put that aside and do the tedious, meticulous work that was needed to ensure we had an airtight case once it came time for an arrest,” Captain Williams said.
The “Romantic Homicide” singer’s attorney’s denied that he was guilty of murdering the young girl.
“Let us be clear — the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” his attorneys Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter said in a joint statement.
