uelques semaines après leur titre olympique, les Français Guillaume Cizeron et Laurence Fournier Beaudry ont dominé la danse rythmique des Championnats du monde de patinage artistique et remportent une médaille d’or mondiale.
Les Français ont envoûté le public et les juges avec une performance épurée et poétique, qui leur a valu 138,07 points, à deux doigts du record du monde.
Au cumul de leurs deux programmes, ils totalisent 230,81 points et devancent les Canadiens Piper Gilles et Paul Poirier, tandis que les Américains Emilea Zingas et Vadym Kolesnik ont décroché la médaille de bronze.
Sur la bande originale éthérée du film « The Whale », qui leur permet d’exprimer une foule de sentiments, Cizeron et Fournier Beaudry ont patiné de manière magistrale, plongeant l’O2 Arena de Prague dans un silence impressionnant.
Associés depuis à peine plus d’un an, ils couronnent leur première saison ensemble avec le sacre planétaire, après avoir déjà remporté le titre européen en janvier et surtout le Graal olympique le mois dernier.
Cizeron, 31 ans et également champion olympique en 2022, remporte au passage le sixième titre mondial de sa carrière après les cinq décrochés avec son ancienne partenaire Gabriella Papadakis.
Pour Laurence Fournier Beaudry, il s’agit d’une première médaille mondiale à 33 ans.
Vendredi, les Français avaient battu leur record de la saison avec 92,74 points grâce à leur programme pêchu inspiré du célèbre tube de Madonna « Vogue ».
