A new detail is beginning to reshape how some are looking at the timeline of the fatal house fire that claimed the lives of Jessi Pierce and her three children.

According to a neighbor in the White Bear Lake area, Mike Hinrichs was seen exiting the home at approximately 5:10 a.m. — just moments before the fire rapidly spread. The witness claims the sighting stood out, not just because of the timing, but because of his behavior.
“He looked back… twice,” the neighbor recalled, describing those final seconds as deeply unsettling.
At this stage, this remains an unverified account, and authorities have not publicly confirmed any connection between the sighting and the cause of the fire. Still, the detail has drawn attention because of how closely it aligns with the narrow window in which the blaze is believed to have escalated.
Investigators typically rely on physical evidence and verified timelines, and a single eyewitness account is only one piece of a much larger puzzle. However, when a tragedy unfolds within minutes — and a person is reportedly seen leaving just before it — questions are inevitable.
For now, officials have not indicated foul play, and no formal conclusions have been announced. But as more information emerges, even small details like this could play a role in understanding what truly happened in those critical moments before the fire took hold.
