Port Authority confirms 2 pilots killed

I’m Andrew Davidson, a senior producer with CBC news in Toronto. The New York Port Authority is holding a news conference now to give an update on the collision overnight of an Air ⁠Canada Express CRJ-900 plane with a rescue and firefighting vehicle at LaGuardia Airport.

The Port Authority has confirmed the two pilots were killed in the ground collision.

A Port Authority spokesperson says the aircraft hit a “Rescue and Firefighting vehicle” as it responded to a separate incident.

The New York Police Department confirmed Sunday that the plane had crashed into a Port Authority vehicle after landing. It did not immediately offer additional information.
