The investigation is still ongoing with the support of Interpol.
Body parts of a wealthy businessman’s son found on a Bali beach
Overdevelopment is leaving the “paradise island” of Bali overwhelmed with trash and flooding.
Bali, once known as a tropical paradise, left devastated after severe flooding — experts warn an even worse scenario could repeat within this century.
A gruesome murder case involving Igor Komarov, the son of a highly influential businessman in Ukraine, is shocking the international public. The latest details from investigators suggest this was a carefully orchestrated plan that began with a social media slip-up and ended in a horrific dismemberment tragedy on the tourist island of Bali, Indonesia.

Location Revealed Through a Valentine’s Day Post
The story began on February 14, 2026, when Igor Komarov (28) was enjoying a vacation in Bali with his girlfriend Eva Mishalova, a well-known blogger with nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram. On Valentine’s Day, Mishalova posted a photo along with a celebratory caption.
Investigators believe that this post may have unintentionally revealed the couple’s exact location, giving kidnappers the opportunity to track them and plan the attack.
The victim was vacationing with his girlfriend, a social media influencer.

Military-Style Kidnapping on February 15
Just one day later, on February 15, the kidnapping occurred in the coastal area of Jimbaran. While traveling on an electric scooter, Komarov was suddenly intercepted by a group of individuals.
According to the New York Post, the attack appeared to be carried out like a professional military operation involving a convoy of cars and motorcycles. The suspects quickly subdued Komarov and removed him from the scene before shocked witnesses could react. Surveillance camera (CCTV) data later recorded a suspicious car and two motorcycles moving repeatedly between Tabanan and Badung districts.
After being abducted, Komarov was believed to have been taken to a villa in Tabanan district. There, investigators discovered crucial forensic evidence. Police found blood spatter throughout the villa and inside a Toyota Avanza, believed to have been used to transport the victim.
Test results showed that the blood samples matched the DNA of the victim’s mother, strengthening the theory that Komarov had been detained and assaulted there before being murdered.
Discovery of the Body and DNA Confirmation on February 26
It was not until February 26 that the first body parts were discovered by local residents near Ketewel Beach in Sukawati district. After expanding the search along the coastline and nearby river mouths, police recovered the full set of dismembered body parts, including the head, torso, arms, and legs.
Because the remains were severely decomposed and disfigured, initial identification was impossible. However, DNA analysis conducted by the National Police Forensic Center in Jakarta confirmed that the remains belonged to Igor Komarov.
The case has drawn enormous public attention.

International Manhunt for the Criminal Network
Indonesian police have so far arrested one suspect in West Nusa Tenggara. The man claimed he had been hired to use a fake passport to rent the vehicle used in the crime for 6 million rupiah (about 380 USD) and said he had no knowledge of the murder plan.
The investigation continues with assistance from Interpol. Six other foreign nationals have been placed on the international wanted list with Red Notices issued. According to the latest information, four suspects have already left Bali, while two are believed to still be hiding somewhere in Indonesia.
The case has caused global shock not only because of its brutality but also due to the identity of the victim. Igor Komarov is the son of Alexander Petrovsky, a powerful businessman based in Dnipro, Ukraine, who is rumored to have deep political connections and complex links to underground organizations.
